Monophonic (me I'm fine)

Up to 20 voice polyphony: Well anyway

3 oscillators per patch, many forms of waves, wave tables, noise, 2WD and VSync, distortion filter

2 filter sections well supplied, consistent modulation matrix, 3 LFOs

6 Enwrapping

mode unison with detune osc drift and to emulate the "old analog" (part of which the resulting sound is fairly average in my opinion, but hey, it's a VA and so it has no fat and the heat of the Analog especially at low frequencies) we obtain a more effective phase shift for my part I dislike so much.

Modes Mono, Poly, portamento ...

Sound card function with 3 inputs (2 XLR jacks and a shared front entrance with a rear no phantom power) 1 digital output, a stereo master output jacks 2 and 1 auxiliary output 2 stereo jacks (handy for click to send a drummer for example) headphone jack, power button (PSU supplied) and finally a USB port.

Master volume knob

Volume button monitoring (balance between the sound of synth and that of the DAW mode sound card)

1 large button speed dial handy

3 octave keyboard with aftertouch good bill

Many synth type sounds
Section 5 effects
Everything is editable on or with the provided utility for Mac and PC

Vocoder with gooseneck microphone supplied

Nice wheels for pitch bend and modulation with dynamic lighting (which manages the Global)

8 knobs (encoders) notched rotary and sensitive to the touch, each with a red LED that lights up underneath when you touch a button.

Type a display banner under encoders (contrast not adjustable)

1 large button (not serrated this one) that is either dedicated to the cutoff or "lock" on any order choice

Arpeggiator

Chorder

Touch mode (buttons act just by touching them on the functions that have been programmed)

Automap function midi controller (provided with Automap Pro License)

Midi in / thru / out

Enter to sustain and expression pedals

Powered by USB and AC adapter

UTILIZATION

The machine is simple to configure the manual is complete though written in too small for my taste.
Editing is simple with very good ergonomics, though few buttons and there is also the editor supplied software that has been done well.

Sounds (patches) are classified and classifiable according to different kinds

Function compares to hear the sound being edited before publishing are

SOUNDS

sounds are configurable so they will adapt to his style.

touching is good, aftertouch, although adjustable, lack a little finesse but is quite playable.

The effects are just right

All sounds are very good as long as one keeps in mind that this is Virtual Analog, except the fat sounds at low frequencies (which are very good but still not as good as a "true analog" )

It does very well in a mix and it is not "eaten" by the guitars, bass and other live even with average amplification.

Listening to the speakers on Ultranova to be a really good surprise! It sounds really!

OVERALL OPINION

Almost perfect (for me) of course by placing it all in a context of price. What to do virtually anything you want.

I was looking for a lightweight, complete with synth based sound card to complete my set (laptop and Nord Electro 3) I use mostly classical sounds and I play in a group makes the compound.

This machine seems really good for a VA, the sound is good (even in groups with low battery guitar and vocals).

Ergonomics I like very much, little buttons, but thought we could easily assign the desired functions to knobs for each patch.

I regret that in the south is not transmitted on the USB when connected to my DAW

Buzz on the headphone jack

I also liked that the screen is tilted for better readability (on keyboards masters Novation is the same but there is a contrast setting that does not Ultranova)

I have some little problems with and I am in contact with technical support Novation I'll have to exchange the defective with a new synthetic functional when available.
