« Good introduction but better version of BCP KB »
Published on 12/09/12 at 07:53Analog Module COD, 3 banks of 128 presets, little sequencer, arpeggiator small.
Publisher mac / Pc is not dévelloppé by DSI and plant too often
Mopho is monophonic.
+ Size! the one carried everywhere!
+ The sound definitely analog ...
+ Chassis smétal
- No switch on / pff
- Publisher pc / mac buggy
- Mode polychain bad.
- Protege lcd super thin and fragile
UTILIZATION
The general configuration is not so simple ... ie in relation to the possibilities of modulation of the machine (4 lfo for example ...) it's a little light to do everything with four assignable encoders ... but it is possible, and it makes sense. Not too much to say the beginner. Mopho keyboard is MUCH more intuitive.
Polychain mode suffers from the worries that go for me unusable. It is indeed one Mopho desktop chaining a Mopho keyboard to have a duophonic. But here's the problem. When you play two notes, the first note is played by the Mopho 1, the second separated the two Mopho. You need to have exactly the same sound on both bikes, of course. so if ke plays "DO / MIB and RE / FA" rigorously at the same time, it works well we hear two notes ... but if I keep pressing a key (eg do) and I play mib mib ground and then it shit! and yes because my C is played by Mopho 1, mib the mopho2, and instead play the floor with the Mopho 2, since one is always busy with my basic, not the one he sought, which I cut I do: I have not yet found the smenus a way to change it, but it really is NUL, the polychainage and suddenly unusable pianistically speaking ...
SOUNDS
Not bad for a preset "push in" (the button that launches an arpeggio, as if that played with a finger) But hey, ets a synth should make your own sounds.
I'm not a huge fan of curtis filter, but hey it's still big sound.
OVERALL OPINION
j have the Mopho keyboard since a month, the desktop for 2 days. I play in monophonic moog little phatty on, Poly on juno2, jx3p, Oberheim Matrix etc..
I quite like this module but its great frer "keyboard" it is very much higher.
Its main asset is its ridiculously low price for a great sound.
the publisher can, the polychain unusable and the lack of its main switch its flaws.
If you can afford it really is best to go directly to the Mopho keyboard or x4 tetra see ... Mopho desktop that is only if you have a budget session on the grass ...
I put 7 in total, 8 for musicians on the go, while the Mopho keyboard deserves a big 9.
