Preamp / EQ / DI / compressor tubes. Has mic and line inputs (but not indpendantes output). It is therefore used in INSERT to the mix.
UTILIZATION
- The configuration is it simple?
- Gets it easy to sound good?
- The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
Very intuitive - there is the sound on! there is just the impedance setting of the microphone that does not blatantly (I did not test on a ribbon mic) - I never open the manual
SOUND QUALITY
- The sound of your instruments or microphones is properly reproduced?
The prampli is it clear or does it brings a stain?
+ Much of this preamp is precisely its color is saturated when the input stage!
With a voice of SM 7 "rock" (like The Strokes and other groups starting after "the" ...)
phnomnal is enough! Entregistre voice (even without EQ, just a little compression) is almost dja mix!
In the mix, if you have a console, you can re-insert the compressor line and so you can enjoy the EQ!
In normal use, without pushing the gain, the LA610 has a very good DEFINITIONS, the sound is clear and wide! However, I notbr /> an excess of sibbilances (eq flat) on a micro tube. With a U87, it's pretty clear without being seedless!
I think this preamp sublime completely dynamic mics (SM 57, Sennheiser 509, n. 7, n. 58, Beyer M69 etc ...)
what comes out is really impressive if only one "drive" a little input stage to find the "sweet spot" ideal!
On static, it is also a big +.
OVERALL OPINION
- How long have you use it?
- What is the particular feature you like best and least?
- Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
- How do you report qualitprix?
- With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...
Almost a year!
+ = the sound "drive"
the - = lack of finesse of the compressor
I used a lot of preamps before buying the LA. (Avalon 737SP, Chandler LTD1, TLAudio ivory and classic, Envoice, DBX silver, 72 & 76 Telefunken, Manley VoxBox ....)
Quality excellent price
Yes!
