RAS easy to use

UTILIZATION

I use it mainly for home recording, but this week I tested for a live touring band who showed up without an amp (very pro is not it!) And I was surprised at the sound quality, the pedalboard directly connected to the DI with cab simulation ON.

I intend to do a test at an upcoming concert, placed between the amp and the HP and compare micro and DI jack on the front, just to see if I can gain clarity, and especially in times when "the sound engineer night "(which is the cousin of the organizer and just spent the evening behind the mixing desk for a few beers) is either drunk or not very competent.

SOUND QUALITY

Transparent DI, I've never had any problems with blast simulation cab (remember a guitar amp it blows a bit and this is normal).

OVERALL OPINION

A super box, which for the price is a palmer, the first to arrive on blindtest A / B differentiated the two is not yet born or really bad liver.

I'm kind of "old fart" who swears by the lamps and who does not like the amp simulations, digital, etc., but this box has changed my life in a home studio and I use as a backup if something goes wrong amp in concert. If it proves as successful placed between the amp and the HP, I will not say never hurt Behringer.

I checked with 4 different amps going into a RME Fireface 800 and the clipping comes from the GI-100


SOUND QUALITY

I might be in bad luck with this particular unit, but even at very low amp volume it clips /distorts without the red clip diode glowing.

An amazing product for the price. I have two and I recommend urgently to all guitarists who are not experts in the art of transplanting amps. I tested quite DI box (cab sim) .. like Palmer, Red Box, MAXZ and I must say that they are (to my ears) above.

I purchased through ZZSOUNDS.com on 12/30/03. I paid $32.00 plus shipping 2 day was $7.00 UPS. and I live in Madison Wisconsin. I purchaced this item because I am totally broke and can't afford much fun. I only make like $9.00 hour (not bad for a college graduate hey!). So in the 1st time in about 2 years I gave into my impulses and put my budget in the back seat.

I am reviewing the Behringer GI100 Ultra G Active DI Box . I bought it It is a tough brushed red Aluminum DI box. This unit can run on phantom Power. Plus it can be used to take the place of setting up a microphone to record an instruments amp. This GI 100 Ultra G has a distinctively crisp 4x12 cabinet simulator on/off button. The simulator works best when you are useing a distortion, phaser, flange, effect. The clean sound is not as noticable but blues effects sound good too.
It makes my 2x12 amp sound like a 6x12 - now take that 32.00 to the bank baby!!!!
DI boxes are great because when I play on a stage and there is alot of wires. The equiptment can turn into a big antenna whereby alot of crazy uncontrollable sound and feedback like noises occure. So it is a good thing to use. I also like that I can use it to make the level of my equipment equal the sound best performance and less or more noise.

I do not like that it cost money.
A good instrument or equiptment should
be free. But really, i couldn't tell you a bad thing.

This is a DI, so there is a transformer, the same as in the DI100 the same manufacturer. To his sister added a 4x12 analog simulation of HP, and a nice box a red anodized aluminum.

UTILIZATION

I use this ID as follows: the speaker output of my tube amp 4W is connected to the input of the DI, the link turns out to be in the HP is in a resistance of 25W 16Ohms (loadbox, but cheaper!). In 4W, both CSA (attenuation) are pressed. The balanced output is directly connected to my preamp Roland Quad-Capture.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound is clear on most of the spectrum, apart from a slump and sub bass. The concern is relative because easily corrected with a slight EQ (of around 4-5dB more about the bass in low-shelve) that goes well (which proves that the frequencies are there, but farther away than the other ).

The simulation HP, I've never been a fan of HP simus analog, although neutral nor convincing. Compared to a convolution simulation, for sure, it is worth nothing. I guess in troubleshooting on a resume direct sound, it can do a clean sound.

OVERALL OPINION

The design is robust and downright fun. The box is the most beautiful effect in a home studio !

It does its job with a slight weakness in the bass. I compared with SCV, which colors the sound quite a bit (but in a good way), it is very decent, especially considering the price. In short, I am very satisfied with this ID, although I might have to settle for the DI100 (gray).

most: its price, the less background noise when the simulation is on HP,
other than that without the simulation of HP it leaves really pass the signal without distorting it too, even in this severe bumps well. I think we can compensate for the hiss of the simulation by equalizing the acute HP, but I think the noise level becomes negligible when the branch on the HP output of a guitar amp. so I'm happy.

- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
I had a red box in the hands of two years. IM 100 is a little bigger is good, bigger for less ...

- How would you rate the quality / price?
for 35 euros it's good work!

yes, because there's no way to have something else for at least 3 times more expensive, against the background it would spoil a bit for recording, but I think there's no live for the better.

- I've had it a week but had already had the opportunity to try one some time ago.
- This box is fantastic, in addition to the mouth, its dual direct box / hp simulation makes it essential equipment. My guitar rack debits the top before hitting the console and the sound is rich in saturated and well Péchu harmonic in the lower (on hp simulation). No background noise especially with the simulation as was said in another review (must come from somewhere else ).
- I tried the red box with a simulation sounded too "boxy" precisely.
- The price / quality ratio is unbeatable (except maybe behringer!)
- I bought a second (for stereo) as soon as I put it there for 35 Euros dedant ... without hesitation!

only weak point: slightly too high to accommodate the thickness of a U!!
I would have rated 10 damage! )))

I will not insult you by retyping the CHARACTERISTICS of the DI box.
Go to the site for more Behringer. In this résumé boiboite runs on 9V or phantom power from your mixer. It possde 2 attnuation of 20db pads, a simulation of 4x12 hp and a ground lift. We can connect any signal and shows a low signal impdance. Ah yes, she is red and beefy, which makes it even better.

UTILIZATION

The manual is clear and MRIE to be read, if only for not using the ultra DCON G hp output of an amplifier lamps.

SOUND QUALITY

I use it to enter my table in my Electroacoustic (piezo => UltraG => between micro) and the sound is very clear, no hum, no noise (which is not n'tait case with an external prampli).
Simulation can possibly dpanner hp, but nothing beats a well located in front of the microphone amplifier.

OVERALL OPINION

Acqurir before I had a passive DI with DOD that never really aid. Makes you wonder if this stuff has never worked one day. Finally, even when I could rcuprer the case. With ultre G is the day and night (as when a device fills the rle for which it was purchased. The report quality price is OK (like all Behringer by the way). A More help purchase a title.

UTILIZATION

The machine looks simple but the switches are not great: you wonder when are they are ON or OFF. but hey, at the ear is doing it. strong point: it operates on phantom power supply and if you are not available, you can put a 9 volt battery in it. I plug my Telecaster live in, sometimes I go through a few pedals before, then I attack table mix / sound system or computer.
I have never plugged an amp on it ... it seems that it works.

SOUND QUALITY

Warning: some of my sound is identifiable, once passed by the beast, but there are still frequencies that were lost somewhere in the box ... there is less of an attack, less acute, but the mids are there. Simulation HP is no better than the Red Box at H & K for a cheap direct box we will not complain.
It does its job, I use it live sometimes, when I have no amp on hand, and seen him scratch the other plays on a real stack, and although my sound is average, at the limit the "ok". We need the feedback and the front rings, though.
If one is only guitarist in a band, or if you model with, do not expect something huge. Mostly it blows a lot this little box.

I use it for a year, mainly to record tracks witness models (the definitive guitar play my favorite amps). The requirement then, this box is ok and not very expensive.
In my opinion it is the only machine that is useful in Behringer, and works properly.
DI boxes are more expensive in others, they are better too. He who would go to sub Avalon or Universal Audio.
In the immediate future I continue to use the Ultra-G on my models.

OVERALL OPINION

I have been using today and I am already won ...
I built a preamp and now I can put the v-amp in the closet because the simulation of 4x12 GI100 is much more natural.
The price / quality ratio is the behringer's up to you but I have never had a problem.
I would do this choice with his eyes closed, except of course if I farted in tune to buy a Palmer ...
Buy you a jack for models xlr/3.5 pc jack and XLR / XLR for the console ...

I thought that buying a product "made for" a would, especially since plutt Behringer is a good brand. My goal? listen to a sound or an electric jazz guitar via the console and a full time limit + Stereo chorus for his cool and clean with a simulation of HP.

UTILIZATION

I have a simple table but complte, I test the functions, phantom power supply and I utiliss test cables. I plug a stratovolcano on the table, not too much background noise but clacs slecteur standards with the buzz and hum and some normal. UltraG with over bed, if not more than a buzz when I touch trs grsillement electrostatic strings, but now the output level is about 10db. As a passive DI, I turn to see the battery and nothing. The phantom power supply? niet, inoprante. same sensation with a gibson LP, its rotted and between the obligation to attnuer because the level is much stronger, double coils requires.
I put the battery and I down the level of the table that saturates and the sound becomes very correct. I put the HP simulation and a big breath appear, but the sound is embedded in a raliste breath outrageous and intolerable. The key is inoprante ground lift, to no avail. I take an acoustic piezo pickup seymour duncan woody of. Same, good sound with fine which AIGS s'taient lost without DI. So ok, no noise, but the even larger level, what a sound is ultimately a good thing, but a big breath, same standard, with the simulation hp.

I do what it takes to change online the product I dfectueux APRS and the return of the product and 4 weeks, second good point, I reois new pedals. it is not the same as my case was fairly clear marks of lgres for me to note.
Nothing worked, same problem, same verdict, this box is not nothing for a electric guitar, and remains correct for an acoustic but it could Remove 3 / 4 of CHARACTERISTICS.
I weep for this poor rating in case that battery and time to understand why. What else?

DI active phantom powered or battery 9V. Ground lift, guitar simulator HP (4x12 ha, ha), two-20db pad cumulative, direct output. It seems that we can send an output of 3000w amp. The cow!
Unable to stack or to combine. The case is strong.

UTILIZATION

When we know the role of DI, there are no worries. The record is there to highlight the technical aspects and types of possible connections, including an insert between a guitar amp and HP to move a microphone.
You want the simulation, you press the button. You shall not want, you press it.

SOUND QUALITY

DI used without the simulation is more than correct and none of the users I plugged (including me) did find bad.
I use it mainly for my preamp output congigurations guitar with the simulation engaged and I'm very satisfied. The color of the simulation is clean, and the sound is quite organic.
on the other hand, it blows a little. We must send a line level and does not engage the pads to keep an acceptable signal to noise ratio.
In blind-blind test, my guinea pigs are in agreement with me that it sounds better than the Red Box and catch microphone in rooms with sound doubtful.
Live is better than an old sm57 who turned 15 years old loose in a bag, and whose investment is an art that is not accessible to everyone. No repisse or feedback, and we can get the sound at home, we find almost everywhere.
I have not tried the Palmer (I long)

OVERALL OPINION

DI without good story and very correct speaker simulation. Obviously, it's worse than taking real studio with a good mic and a good sound engineer, but it will deceive many people. And not being a top musician and that some benefits are at the limit of DIY, I restarted with for not having any surprises. All those I have suggested that solutions were also satisfied with the test.
Too bad it's blowing a little (but still far less than most guitar amps) with the simulation running.
At this price, I necessarily valid. I have two.
