[NAMM] Midas unveils the M32 digital mixer

The Midas M32 is inspired by the British consoles but sports a medium-size modern design in which the brand included 32 of their mic preamps with motorized faders and 25 mix busses, as well as 192kHz DAC and DCA with a dynamic range of 114dB.

Add to this 7” TFT touch screens, a personal monitoring section, network transmission and full channel strips with backlit switches and LED rotary encoders for shelving control, dual dynamic section, parametric EQ, sends, pan and preamp settings, and you have a mixing console that can be used in studio or on stage.

The M32 has a long list of features and innovations, including a Send of Fader function to create sub-mixes, 8 DCA groups to control multiple signals without mixing them into a sub-group bus, an Assign section with 36 controls spread on 3 layers, a real time 100-band analyzer with spectrograph, 16 new effect plug-ins (50+ in total) based on physical modeling of Urei 1176, Teletronix LA-2A, Fairchild 670, Pultec EQP-1A processors, a 5-band compressor, 4 stereo reverbs that can be used simultaneously, a 31-band graphic EQ and more.

The 32 × 32 audio and MIDI USB interface allows for connecting the Midas M32 directly to your Mac or PC and two AES50 network ports support up to 96 inputs and output via a CAT5 cable. A standard Ethernet port allows Mac/PC and iOS users to remotely control the mixer thanks to software editors.

Last, Midas offers extension cards for increased MADI, Dante, FireWire or ADAT capacities.

Note that the console is compatible with the Mackie HUI and Mackie Control protocols, as well as the P-16M personal monitors and the DL16 Digital Snake.
