    OVERALL OPINION

Just a little personal accuracy, many people regret the absence of internal effects on the DX7, for my part I think it is an advantage as it can add any conceivable effects with a multi-quality effects ("Lexicon" eg). For the following versions (DX7 IID / FD) is dependent on what gives us the machine and with a lesser quality deal with various multi-effects racks.
A good chorus and a good reverb plastered DX7 MKI and it is pure bliss! Oh I forgot, this synth is virtually indestructible ...

At risk of sounding too biased, I can not let the DX7 with notes as bad! When it comes to making a synth for the stage with studio use as well, we must believe that the DX7 was firmly rooted in my subconscious. Like a mantra subliminal, DX7, DX7 ... When it comes to making a synth for the stage with studio use as well, we must believe that the DX7 was firmly rooted in my subconscious. Like a mantra subliminal, DX7, DX7 ... I naturally oriented one occasion of this legendary synthesizer how to: there are spoiled for choice. For less than 400 euros with various options following vendors, business abound for this synth I have found beautiful: an indefinable color (black at first, but actually a slightly metallic plum), screen-printing table as math, buttons and soft green flush nicely aligned, two dials configurable keyboard 61 keys to touch soft but expressive MIDI implémantation pioneer (full incidentally), a cartridge slot so old game console, and my friends, a monumental weight! Forget the look and toc plastoc some synths, this one is cut in the cast! Provide a solid cover for transport! Curiosity: the controller of breath, quite hard to find now.

    UTILIZATION

There is no easier and no more complicated than most recent synths where a button 10000 cache functions. Everything is chosen in relation to the different colors of menu. If you want to tweak the sounds, you can find happiness at the cost of spending hours: this is not the intuitive analog. If like me, you want a keyboard stage or studio cheap, very well made and most importantly, totally timeless, you can not go wrong. But this is largely due to the fact that with a PC MIDI + + style DXManager dedicated editor, you have access to an online sound library royalty-free saving you the unbelievable tedious hack and presets a bit "light ".

    SOUNDS

This is where we fall back into childhood. At the turn of the choice of sounds, are connected and the flashbacks we realize how the sounds of the DX7 were predominant in many productions of the 80s. The largest used it and there is always a sound that reminds you of something, even diffuse. Still valid, it comes into its own in any musical style although FM synthesis does not reproduce all types of sounds to perfection. Do not have internal effect it will be important to associate it with a good reverb (as was the case in the 80s), sounds a bit dry sounding alone. If you liked the sound of the 80s, the DX7 is for you.

    OVERALL OPINION

It's been three months now and I never get tired. On stage, master keyboard or to spice up your compositions, it is great. For 300 euros on average, why deprive yourself of such a beast? It's a love story. The DX7 equipped with a card type or Supermax E! brings their own set of additional features but mine is raw casting, always brings me something new, even without tinkering (I prefer to hack into analog). If the first few listens seem disappointing especially with the presets, take a step back and wait to find (or hack internet) sounds enticing. And then you realize how much this synth sound is full of treasures to exploit or repurpose. A word to the VIVA EL DX7!

    UTILIZATION

SIMPE visuliser principle, but difficult to anticipate beginners trs. APRS is being done. The choice of algorithm ncessite also a good Entran, because you have to analyze the srtucturation of his wish to see which should be taken (eg a xylophone is a blade mtalique + noise wooden mallet , so an algorithm two branches!).
The edition of the sounds is easy if you do not want to look too far. By pinailleur against the will of the harmonics to give them hours of research, such as "I have 30 possibilities to spend diffrent fillets flat round threads on my string fretless bass" (yes, yes, I have reached that level of decision-head).
The manual is ridiculous to ridicule. Get a manual indpendant Yamaha, titled "Matrisez your DX", you will directly at suprieur.

    SOUNDS

All sounds are possible on a DX-7. When this synth was released it quickly rpandu IDE that could only make sounds mtalliques and cold. But it does not know when to use it. It is possible to make good brass round though nervous, soft fretless bass, and especially it is possible to make layers of violins almost analog, shiny above, velvety and warm down with a symphonic effect trs rich (they can cause incredible chorus LFO indpendants By creating three in each voice).
In addition, the oscillators can be dsynchronisation allow its variant lgrement stamp each button press, which amne ism which no one is capable sampler.
I dtest factory sounds, trs ugly, garish. A RULES: editing. The whole thing is to have patience and s'entraner.

    OVERALL OPINION

THE FIRST hours passion for this synth I do not spare. It offers a freedom that only large cratrice analogue research can offer, and this combines with the possible expression trs rich.
It is both a synth and a synth scne of research. But it does not engage that those who are curious, passionate and patient. To those on the DX-7 will prove gnreux and limitless. And it is clear that this synth is not for those who want "all at once."

The sounds can range from a kind of cross between a very old 60's electronic piano
hybrid jazz guitar so hot to a kind of electronic cytare coupled with crystal-clear sound with the dulcimer.

We do not twisted effects, sound percussion bell but also the kind of bass sounds with great FM attack.

He rarely shows an effect of this synth notament copper in ground and it
    beautiful.
The ideal is to connect behind a expendeur and stereo reverb and there is little to do stuff vangelis.

    OVERALL OPINION

This synth is a real box of surprises and is very complementary to a good analog to
it will make the bass strings with the moog, and leads the genre saw.

The fm is the possibility to create complex sounds near the acoustic instruments
while it works with analog sounds simple.

Run to buy the DX7 is not expensive and it does not shake as disappointing products
yamaha motif ES current type gas plant with sounds not great instrumentals and less hot than Roland.

    SOUNDS

I do not use the usual basic patches, but those of the DX7 are just beautiful!
Really top for: electric piano, bass and groundwater endless!

Even we are surprised by fiddling to fall on its large current electro.

The aftertouch is gorgeous. Velocity as well, unless the keyboard is connected by noon. I think I really have to type like a deaf man to get me to the max. (I probably set too badly: D).

Indestructible! He saw all the colors and it is always at his post! I really carries everywhere. (But really any color water, soda, cold, hot). No I do not mistreat it happened either in concert or was an accident ... :)

    Very good speech.

I've had a few days. Owns and I tried many synths in the past.
The manufacturing quality is impressive. It is unbreakable. APRS 26 years, the mcanique
keyboard works great. No key hard. The touch is absolutely on homogne
the entire keyboard. This is the first time I see a synth too strong. Built like a tank!
On occasion, the report qualitprix is amazing.

Another dtail: I love the Native Instruments accumulators, but

The manual for the Yamaha DX7 is pretty complete and is definitely good to have around while you are trying to learn this powerful instrument.

    SOUNDS

The sounds on the Yamaha DX7 are pretty varied, but all have a similar recognizable sound about it. It definitely sounds like the time period in which it came from, which is the 1980s. It is great for dance and pop music, and if you want to get creative you can definitely use it for all types of instruments. The feel of the keyboard is nice and it is very easy to play. The pitch and modulation wheels, and other parameters provide for almost endless possible sounds with this keyboard. Overall, an extremely unique instrument that is a great tool for a wide variety of applications.

    OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Yamaha DX7 synth for about three years and it is easy to see why it has become a classic. Surprisingly, these are pretty easy to find and aren't really that expensive. So if you are a fan of the sounds on this, it is a pretty easy pick up and is great to have around for both recording and live shows. Overall, the Yamaha DX7 is a unique instrument that definitely holds a place in the history of synthesizers.

It has pretty good features considering the age of this classic. Velocity and aftertouch. Breath control, portamento, sustain and modulation inputs as well. Not bad. 16 voices, 6 operator FM, 5 octave keyboard and it holds 32 patches. There's a million patches floating around the net which you can send to your dx7 through midi.

    $180

Definitely not the easiest synth to use or program. But with patience and a little knowledge in FM synthesis you'll be creating patches like there's no tomorrow. If you're looking for a synth that's not boring this is it!

    SOUNDS

The sound is good for those gritty basslines or weird bell type sounds or just flat out weird! Basically you create the sound you wanna hear just don't expect to replicate anything realistic.

    OVERALL OPINION

Tough? Hell yes this thing weighs a ton. The membrane buttons wear through after heavy use but they'll still work.

I'll always love this synth just because of how deep it is. Sure its digital but then again it is the best selling synth of all time and many great hits we're made with it. Then again I did grow up in the 80's that might explain my connection!
