The controller Vestax started to tease on their website earlier this week will be an addition to their VCI series of DJ controllers, capable to handle ''any DJ software'' (Serato, Virtual DJ, Traktor Pro, Torq, Mixvibes, Mixx, Deckadance, djDecks, etc.) according to Vestax.
The Vestax VCI-400 is said to work with any DJ software that has a MIDI learn function. Having about 200 assignable parameters (knobs, faders and buttons) leaves enough room to fit in the necessary controls of the software you use. Vestax will have basic MIDI maps for a variety of DJ software available on www.vestax.com. The VCI-400 comes bundled with Serato DJ Intro and Virtual DJ LE 4 Decks.
The VCI-400 lets you customize how the controller works with software. The control surfaces will map to your style, and the multi-mode transport button is designed to allow finger drum skills.
The sound quality of a DJ controller is determined by its D/A conversion capability. The VCI-400 uses an asynchronous USB streaming system and provides audio at 24-bit / 48 kHz resolution.
Vestax provides optional overlay and appropriate mapping files to map your software. Available overlays for Traktor Pro 2, VirtualDJ and Serato.
The VCI-400 is supplied with a blank overlay set out of the box. You can stick the overlay to the VCI-400 facepanel and write the function names of your unique function mapping.
Check out the mapping files on www.vestax.com.
