Unlike other previous opinions, I find the interface of Traktor 3 much more enjoyable and functional than previous versions. Having used for years in version 2.x with the mouse, change to version 3 did not seem very restrictive. He just had to redefine a layout that suited me and configure the interface noon with a DJ Control MP3 for free myself almost completely from the mouse. A Vestax VCI-100 is expected to top it off soon.
The installation obviously poses no particular concern, but the activation is now done via the Internet (version 3.2). After a year in Traktor 3, I took out a version 2.62 (the last 2) and 2.53 (the most stable 2.X), can not be as effective as in version 3, helping habits.

Traktor 3 has better MIDIS messages, with the added bonus of outgoing messages to light the LEDs for some controllers. The library to me is more readable than before and new messages MIDI just allow me to browse it with the knobs of the DJ Console. The use of filters and effects seem easier in Traktor 3. The appearance is much more customizable to my liking than version 2.

However, it is clear that the gourmet version 3 is in hardware, particularly in terms of RAM, since a laptop HP Athlon XP 1800 + / 512 MB RAM, it'll still only 70 Mos physical. That is enough, but it should not be fun to launch other programs (audio). This is partly because Traktor 3 can cache (RAM) part of each MP3 (so imagine on 4 decks). For work without latency and CPU resources without snacking, I've added a M-Audio Firewire 410 which allows me to work quietly with a latency of 5.5 ms.

Apart from the comparison with previous versions, I think Traktor 3 is the most complete software market and in its category.

OVERALL OPINION

Lach with the mix CD to switch to "digital", I test just about every existing apps. -> I t surprised by the quality of audio Traktor. Unlike some apps (not to mention virtual DJ), the audio engine of frquences crunches on the sound, here with traktor, the sound comes out crystal, many are not necessarily the difference, but it is pr feel, the sound normment potato with traktor.

In the end I would recommend it to DJ's who mix dj on vinyl or CD and who wish to spend on a support numrique. However, I deprecated the beginners who will find the interface to be too complicated and Drout.

TRAKTOR3 VIVA!

I use version 3.4.1 of then one day. Before I had version 2.6.1.

I purchased this plugin to use when I DJ weddings and other similar events. There are a lot of DJ software out there. The reason I chose the Native Instruments Traktor was because I have used a lot of there software and have always been satisfied. My setup contains a Macbook laptop, presonus Firebox interface, and a pair of EV Powered speakers and a Sub. The only thing I use this for is mixing in MP3's and Wave files.

GETTING STARTED

I have never had any compatibility issues using this software. A crash or hiccup in the audio can be very very bad for a DJ especially when it is for something formal like a wedding. I have used this several times and never had any problems what so ever. Yes, the manual was clear and helped me get comfortable with the interface. I have never used real hardware gear to DJ, in fact, I only got into Djing wedding because I have most of the PA equipment necessary. After spending a few hours with this plugin, I was ready to go. At first glance it looks very complicated. But once you start getting used to finding music on you computer/ext hdd through the program and what exactly each button/slider in the interface does, you pretty much have it figured out. Yes, the typical function lie right in front of you for easy access.

Yes, no crashes and any sets I have created are always stored and recalled properly. Yes, and it better stay that way. I give it a 10 out of 10 for performance. It functions flawlessly and makes my life so much easier when it comes to mixing awful music for weddings, haha. I have been using Traktor for about a year now.

OVERALL OPINION

What I like most about this plugin is the ability to auto mix music. This is nice as it allows me to load five or six songs and take a bathroom/smoke/food break and keep the music going. I guess the only thing I don't like about this plugin is the small little field you get for finding songs on you computer. Its not that big of a deal, but it would be nice to be able to expand it. Although, maybe you can and I haven't figured it out yet. I paid $200 for this unit and I am happy with that price. It has made DJing a lot easier and has paid for itself. Well, I primarily deal with MP3's and they sound just as good coming out of Traktor as they do iTunes. No, I haven't tried any other models besides this one. Yes, I like this software so I would definitely buy it again if I needed to.
