I use this drumkit for less than a year and I am generally satisfied. I bought used late 2013 and has a big sound makes for big, fat rock. Close enough to Pearl Export or Tama Rockstar. I can not tell you about the snare because I use a Mapex Series in March. The drumkit has quite surprised me in the studio. I recorded with my band a model and the result was really above what I thought. The bass drum has a kick that hurts a lot and super serious toms are also full of power. The kit is flexible enough level config. Personal I play most often without the floor tom 16 "(except in large rooms) level can here my set. (Remo ambassador snare / tom Remo Sound Control / Remo Pinstripe bass drum) Negative in this config. it is not really versatile. positive point for me, its really cool look with strapping black and brushed aluminum look great color. Finally level value for money is more than respectable! So if you look a powerful drumkit with minimal mouth and you do not have an unlimited budget. Fear not for a drumkit "low end" it makes boulo (although granted with good skin).

I personally bought this kit rock (1200's in store Baguetterie Marseille) because there 2 years ago j'tais looking for a 100% pure rock and I shut served! !

What pushed my acqurir the harvester:
Its relatively affordable price for a quality I would describe as excellent for a powerful game,
His kick drums and undrilled,
With its range of numro sries and a limited edition,
And much more ...

The only point I would ngatif (but unfortunately that applies a lot of drums with cymbals included), the cymbals, which I believe are only cymbals dmonstration Although Tama or pass by Meinl for making it.

I bought this model in October 2010 in a store in Montpellier for € 1,190 while Tama had already stopped production, certainly the price of a drumkit rare these days that perfectly matches an ideal Rock!

I personally was attracted by its composition Rock (1x Alto Tom / Floor Tom 1x 14 "/ 1x Floor Tom 16" Bass Drum and 22 "No Breakthrough).

This SwingStar Spot has no match for me with the usual range in Tama because of its configuration but also in relation to the response and sound quality.

Strengths: Bass Drum No Breakthrough, Mahogany Wood, Rhodoïd resistant, Configuration, The Rock because of its configuration is ideal for those who want to send her to the concert.

Cons: The cymbals.

I have to separate for lack of space (13 Batteries in my local)

How long have you use it?

I do not have this drumkit personally, but I repeat it for 1 year.

What is so special that you like best?

The more I found in this limited edtion SwingStar is the look: drums accistillage a gray "stripe" and the black circles gives a great look to it so well for the stage, and it really METAL unique! For a drumkit low end, I find that the sound is fine. The original skin of the drum has an extra layer on the inside edge which eliminates the harmonics and thus the empty drum sounds great with a deep, warm and very present. The characteristic I like about the snare drum is that it has an open sound with a timbre that is readily apparent (present even in low tones as opposed to my own snare Pearl Metallic) that with a good mix on stage gives a of killing her XD. As for the toms, I was disappointed to discover that there were two hanging toms on the bass drum (12 "and 13") and a floor tom (16 ") instead of the configuration that can be seen on the picture corresponding to the kit but it's still a detail. Again, there is a deep and warm that I do not know the best opportunities because the skins are still the original ones and I have never taken the time to give skin as possible. So even if it's not necessarily the sound of beast that I dream, I'm already very happy to exploit this kit has already caréctérisque that I love: the sound Tama (d anyway 'By next year, the Starclassic Maple j'm'achète and there, CA !!!). After Fuck, where the picture does not lie, that's the hardware: in the set comes with a Pedal Tama standard (I play on the double pedal Pearl Eliminator for a while now p'tit), a foot-hat practice because the tripod can rotate independently of the support which allows for room for the double pedal (this that is not the case on my foot which is quite charley Pearl vieu being said). There is also a right foot and a foot pole double Embassies very strong. As for the cymbals, they are nothing of Tamas Special: apart from the hi-hat that sounds not too bad, the other two cymbals (crash 16 "ride 20") are very bland so it's level remains palpable for rehearsals but no more ...

What is so special that you like the least?

What I find unfortunate is the lack of precision in the sound of each drum sound c'qui gives a bit messy. I do not know if this is due to the original skin but even if it does not change anything, it's still the low end so no surprise there either. Same with the cymbals, Tama are the gods of wood, not metal. ^ ^

Have you tried many other models before buying it?

I already had my Pearl Forum before rehearsals started with an old and tested SwingStar Tama and another brand DB Percussion drum that sounded like cardboard.

How would you rate the quality / price?

I do not know the purchase price of new one (I reckon it's in the 700 or € 800) but with the included cymbals Tama and quality, it's still a good deal.

With experience, you do again this choice?

If not have my java OCCAZ of Pearl, I probably saved quite a bit more to buy a Tama low-end to start then surely this one for its looks and because Tama: IT'S THE SHIT!

Finally, if I should do an overall opinion, this drumkit is behaving very well for an instrument designed for beginners because you end up with a deep satisfaction in each of the barrels and a crate grossse very present. But I would put that 7 because it's still far from Christoph Schneider (HE'S MY GOD !!!).

- What is so special that you like most and least?
What I like most with this drumkit is its originality in the composition. Indeed, it has two floors and a single tom toms over the bass drum. I like it a lot, and I find it much more "class" a simple drumkit composition. This is so that I have chosen, mainly.
What I like least is the cymbals, I have also changed. It cymbals that are worth nothing, especially not the overall level of the drumkit.

- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
Yes, I made the mistake of a Pearl Rhythm Traveler achter that I had to change after 6 months ...

- How would you rate the quality / price?
The value for money is excellent for my taste. I paid € 760 and it still stands. I think it will take much longer elsewhere. It is solid. And beautiful, both in the sound in the finish. The black hardware are also original.
This is a drumkit like no other, which however is very good and with which it takes a lot of fun to play.
I just changed the cymbals very quickly, and add attenuators harmonics to sound more rock, it sounds less and it's perfect like that.
