I bought these drums at Long & Mcquade in Victoria, B.C., for $2185 Canadian dollars. It came with a 22"x17" kick, 10"x9", 12"x10", 14x12" toms and a 14"x5.5" snare. Included all mounting hardware plus Yamaha double kick pedal, 2 single braced boom stands, hi hat stand, snare stand. I bought this kit because I rented it for a month and loved the look and the sound.

These drums are gorgeous. Oak grain is by far the nicest looking out of all woods used for drum-making. As for sound, I find this kit much quieter than the previous kit I owned (Pearl Masters Studio BRX), and much more punchy, which is great. It sounds like a real organic kit. The kick drum is powerful and bassy, but not overwhelming. The toms are responsive, clear and very resonant with lots of highs and mids and lows. I wasn't totally fond of the snare drum as it has a little snare fan underneath the batter head to give extra attack, but I found this device annoying as the snare strands broke off and rattled inside the drum. Consequently, this drum was replaced by the Yamaha 14x6 Anton Fig maple snare drum with maple hoops. As for the hardware, it is typical Yamaha genious with the ball mount tom mounts and super-suportive cymbal stands (they're only single-braced too!). The double kick pedal was a promotion from the store and it is the double-wide chain drive pedal....great feel. A complete bargain!

The only problem I have with this kit aside from the snare drum is that some lugs on the 14" tom do not want to stay tightened, which means that almost every day I have to retighten those lugs....not a big problem but for those who are not great at tuning, it could become a problem.

Bottom line: Buy these drums! I had a Pearl Masters Studio BRX kit before this and it sounded good, but for the money, these Oak drums sound just as good, plus, they're a couple thousand dollars cheaper. Even a bigger bonus is that they're more gorgeous than any maple or birch kit than you'll ever see.

I play the drums for about 4 years and I still have some surprises when I use it in other situations. This is very good batteries, whose only fault is not to be sufficiently flexible.

I opted for a Yamaha Maple Custom Snare because I think the sound is better and richer (I do not like the system on the double stamp custom oak)

At the kick drum, the key word is power, which is exactly what I want. Many of attack and relatively little resonance with a huge bass sound. Toms themselves are powerful enough without overflow when they are played in groups. They are not really annoying harmonic, just a precise sound, making it relatively easy to tune.

The problem is that the sound, including that of the bass drum is not necessarily adaptable to all styles. That is why I would put the note 7 / 10: It's a very good drumkit to play rock and other styles that require a powerful sound, and there is not much drumkit of this quality in this range made, but the note would be lower if I wanted to use otherwise. I also lowered the rating for the snare drum I do not use.

A consultant then for all who do not have much to invest in a drumkit (good 1500 euros it's still a lot) and still looking for a rock sound to a very high quality.

the bass drum is huge. you tape it on the seat with every stroke of the pedal easier to tune. j I have just put the cushion in his evans sounds great.
for j toms have a config. 10,12,13,16. 10, is rather simple give it sone good round with not a lot of harmonics even with a Remo Ambassador. the 12 is slightly more complex al agreement but once the agreement found it sounds great too. 13, I do not just give my opinion because it is at Yamaha for 5 months because it has a default of the original chanffrin typing impossible to grant. the 16 sounds really bad has given quite complex too. if c is the quality of vraimen ke I think the report quality / price is very resonable.

For over a year, I opted for the Yamaha Oak Custom (matte because the sound less bright) after playing high-end maple and birch (First and Yamaha).
Playing many styles from Rock, Jazz, Latin to Funk with different musicians, I needed a very versatile kit side tone, sensitivity and power.
Being quite surprised by the dynamics of the drums during a test, I selected small (emphasis on accuracy but leaving plenty of power under the baton when the guitar sends the sauce!): 18 * 17 * 10 8, 12 * 9 13 * 14 ... No surprises from the tom bass descends very low, very fat (each test the following good skin rendering desired, even if it does not drop as much as a tom 15 or 16), like given serious bass drum (drum head Pin Stripe a tone above that of reason), no cushion to let live the barrel. The other drummers are totally amazed!
The drums are extremely accurate (better to master his basics before playing too many notes and rough sounding), but reveals a nice halo (with less harmonic than maple but more energy, as more homogeneous as birch).
I absolutely can not regret that choice whose value seems unbeatable right now.
Look at the number of drummers of all styles that play it.

could be noted that the toms sound may be too powerful in December 13 16 good but at the same time I would perhaps not at the Evans hydraulic meter because it is really serious I am disappointed ausi that the circles are not molded

yes a few a dw to € 4400 but I still prefer the oak (for the price too ^ ^) and pearl master custom

which is standard in this instrument is the sound Obviously toms including sand hills with skins that sound gnreusement ds the first wand.
the sound of the bass drum is a power Ingala, even if the rglage is a bit dlicat: the behavior of wood and its sound can Drout but final result is a dimension Ingala by other batteries.

finishing and fittings are immaculate, the sober, matte color, make this a beginners drum high-end indniable.

other models of sound. fans of Yamaha Stage Custom say that enough, but in this price range, and the quality of sound and finish, is in no COMPTITE MODEL.

report quality / price irrprochable. Configuring 12, 13, 16 and 22 "is not standard, and the purchase of the fts dtails is not the most affordable, but we can not have a race car for the price a fiat 500 ...

my choice of skins: in sand toms and bass drum in Evans EQ1 rvle whole sound of the BTE.
for those specifications prcis: batteries rock / metal / big sound / that sends like the pros (Pleymo, the ruda ...) for a price dfiant any competition, this one is that you need.

advice: go try it just to see ... and you will be the sole judges ...

I just tested the drumkit once in concert. I have compared the acoustic sound with microphones.
So, in power, it's going, it's okay, but not more than my drums (Mapex M-birch) and the bass drum, like, no more powerful than mine (but more powerful than a Pearl or export session studio). More importantly, many serious, that's fine, but once sound system, the definition is not too low and too invasive. After, well, it was accentuated by the skin (Evans G2 coated) and I used a 10-tom "in place of a tom 12" usually (that is, the serious ...), so , drumkit driven really rock.
Price / quality ratio right, but personal, I have not found it was of incredible quality (although very low) and I preferred to less (€ 900) and have a drumkit of equivalent quality but with accessories. Or, to put twice as much for any real quality.
But, hey, I only tested once (actually twice, I had already tested in a studio again).
