Crest Audio has announced that the high power fmodel of the CC Series of power amplifiers, the CC5200, has been re-baptised the CC5500.
Following the initial launch of the CC5200, an amplifier capable of delivering 5200 Watts for subwoofers and line arrays, Crest Audio decided to increase the power to relaunch the amplifier as the new CC5500.
The new CC5500 will be available from May 2009 for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

- Rated Power (2 × 2 ohms) 2,750 watts per channel @ 1 kHz <0.05% T.H.D. both channels driven.
- Rated Power (2 × 4 ohms) 1,800 watts per channel @ 1 kHz at <0.05% T.H.D. both channels driven
- Rated Power (2 × 8 ohms) 1,150 watts per channel @ 1 kHz at <0.05% T.H.D. both channels driven
- Rated Power (1 × 2 ohms) 3,600 watts @ 1 kHz at <0.05% T.H.D.
- Rated Power (1 × 4 ohms) 2,200 watts @ 1 kHz at <0.05% T.H.D.
- Rated Power (1 × 8 ohms) 1,280 watts @ 1 kHz at <0.05% T.H.D.
