yes, the SM 58 and Beta 58 and frankly it is not the micro

The N/D767a is a supercardioid dynamic microphone Designed for singing.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought this microphone after good returns in US forums and I do not regret: it is sensitive particulirement (almost like a capacitor MODEL!) Prcis and gives the color I like particulirement voice.

A cot with a SM58 is the day and night. I also occasionally a Beta 58 but I prfre the 767.

Note that this micro dlivre a high output current, which ncessite less pr-amplification before attacking an amp, which is not worse. It is also much less sensitive to feedback a SM58 for example.

Only BMOL: the grid is painted black and has a tendency s'cailler a little bit if we are not careful ...

At a price infrieur 150, it is between the SM58 and Beta 58, it is also particulirement cheap (guaranteed 3 years!).

In résumé I've had an ending for a year and I can not do without!

Utiliss singing lead and backing vocals on indiv for less than a year in concert and RPET.

A trs Discoveries enjoyable for me in this CATEGORY price, with a large sound reproduction trs, trs trs and Submitted prcise and a sensitivity surprising and a standard output (which, in particular, makes trs unfavorable to feedback, even in the worst conditions)

No hsitation, can be a compar techniqt Bta 58. Infrieur but its price is at least 30%.
Rcent in my park too (amateur, I prcise) dj for a return on its robustness.

Report qualitprix exceptionally so.

Note: my two new alternative static (Beta 87 and E865) in the benefits of the most "violent physiqut" (some singers are more or less likely kill the stuff), I just bought a second me 2 to replace the E845 which I used until the sound of punching bag.

I've had a year and a half and I have already had a bunch of microphones before and even after the various scenes and he chose me.
It colors the same lot as the media and we like it or not. very dynamic.
Very high output, very powerful, do not particularly fast feedback.
I find it just a bit expensive compared to competition, but as I have taken occasion

Electro-Voice's N/D767a is a supercardioid dynamic microphone designed for live use. It features Electro-Voice's patented technology: Voice-Optimized Bass, or VOB, for short. This supposedly reduces muddiness. EV also makes the handle of the N/D767a very comfy with its Warm Grip handle.

Because of this, the Electro-Voice N/D767a is a very easy microphone to use. I spent very little time worrying about microphone technique and became more focused on my singing and my performance.

This microphone is also oddly enough incredibly versatile. I don't think I've heard a bad sound come out of this microphone. But, I say that in regards to the sound of the microphone itself. It is NOT forgiving on poor vocals at all. It will reveal flaws in your voice, so a few singers I know shy away from this microphone and gravitate toward a microphone that will squish their flaws *coughSM58cough.

One thing to note about the Warm Grip is that while it's a joy to hold, it does have a habit of being a teensy bit too large for some microphone clips. Granted, the warm grip does come off it you want it to look like an RE16, but it's there for a reason, right? Well...the Warm Grip in the ones I owned also tended to stop the XLR cable from locking in. This is a huge annoyance that bugs me to no end.

OVERALL OPINION

Electro-Voice's N/D767a is a fantastic vocal microphone for any live situation. I especially love it in smaller, more acoustic venues, as the detail and clarity makes the performances incredibly sensitive. The microphone's frequency response extends all the way up to 22kHz, explaining a lot of the air and punch that this microphone has. I have even tracked a few studio recordings with this microphone. It's a good buy, especially if you can find it used. I used to own a pair. Despite their alleged indestructibility, one of mine broke when a few drunk groupies got up on stage. That was a bad night for me. That's okay though, because I am ducking out of investing in live sound for a while.

When I get back into it, I will consider the N/D767a, although I have found a new love in the Audio-Technica Artist Elite series. I've written reviews on some of those as well. For just a little more than an SM58 though, the N/D767a blows it out of the water, unless you are less talented as a performer.

This is a dynamic mic with a supercardioid pattern, featuring EV's patented Voice-Optimized Bass technology to reduce muddiness, and comfy Warm Grip handle.

OVERALL OPINION

I was first introduced to the ND/767a when I walked into a music store to purchase a Shure Beta 58a. I specifically needed a mic that would perform well when used for female vocals in a live situation. The salesman went to the mic room and returned with the Beta58 and the 767a; he invited me into an isolated room to test-drive the two mics side by side. He was confident I'd like the 767 better. I wound up buying the Beta58 that day, but regretting it later. I'm now in the process of replacing ALL my live vocal mics with the ND/767a. Yes, I own Beta58's and other vocal mics, but I'm willing to fight for my right to one of the 767's on a gig.

These mics are ideal for every live vocal application. Great richness to the sound, thanks to the Voice-Optimized Bass" technology - great for ladies or gents, country music or R&B. Being a lady, I love having this mic on any gig which requires I rap; it represents my voice with grea, warm, clear tone. My words flow through crisply to the mixer, and my tone is nice and thick. I also love them on my jazz and reggae gigs - this mic does justice to Diana-Krall-type sultriness, dance hall vocals, rap and soul singing.

Great pickup radius on this mic, although the best sounds are - of course - produced when the vocalist is within 3 inches of the grill. The comfy handle is easy to grip, even if your palms are a little sweaty, and the grill is coated with a rubberized black substance. This reduces the number of times my guitar player and bass player shock themselves on the gill while playing their instruments. Fair warning, though: this mic doesn't fit well into some brand-specific mic clips, other than the EV clips included with the mic in purchase. No "universal" mic clip is too small for it, but Shure and Senheiser clips can't hold it.

I started my 767 collection about a year ago, and have had some great compliments on the mic itself. Just to give an idea, I was once on a gig with several other vocalists, who were using several models/brands of mics. The client stood in the middle of the room during sound check, asking the sound man again and again to "make ALL the mics sound like that black one she's got!" He was referring to my ND/767a. There was nothing the sound man could do - no amount of tweaking could make any other mic sound like this one.

On a second occasion, also on a gig with several other vocalists (who were using various Shure and Audix mics), the sound man buried his head in the mixer as we checked the mics down the front line. I was fourth in line. "Mic check, one." "Mic check, two." "Mic check, three." "MIC CHECK, FOUR." Without looking up from the mixer, the sound man came back on the talkback mic and asked, "Is that an EV mic? S'gotta be."

Price-wise, this mic is comparable to the Shure Beta58a (around $150-190 from most retailers) and outperforms the Beta58a. Mine are all completely worth the price I paid for them; I'd like to replace ALL my live vocal mics with these.
