Mine has a spectrum very pinched on the medium for the recovery of electric guitar amp without the need to equalize.
can not be opposed to the use SM57 for bass.
OVERALL OPINION
I have not been around long enough to judge its relevance to other mics but it sounds very special which should certainly give an interesting vintage tone.
