Micro dynamic cardioid multipurpose use.
OVERALL OPINION
It is well known, the SM57 is really mat: guitar, percussion, ... and even voice (provided you do not stand too prs because of the proximity effect)
It is often the choice of n1 amps guitars I prfre far the TRS for a E609 that works wonders. Otherwise, a going well on toms, as on many other instruments ...
Other microphones, such as M88, are (under review) a better choice, except in a grunge / punck for "dirty" a little sound.
On a snare drum is really the top: by tilting in the right direction, it reduces the repisse charley, thanks its cardioid directivity.
His succsseur the Beta57, move up higher in the treble.
