i think it is made in POLAND.
i compared it to my bass player Fender Highway precy and it is near as good as Fender. comparing the qality and the price of the two basses - if you are on budget it is far smarter to by the overland/or as in my case - i m guiatarist/

    Squier Precision Bass

I saw the Blink 182 video for All the small things and heard many older beatles songs and well being a great fan of any music, especially blink, I decided to get a P Bass at guitar center. I spent about $180 for the bass alone. I thought this guitar was cool for some sort of reason but later thought otherwise.

I like this unit because like the p bass fender, it provides more beef and punchy simple bass sound. The cheapness.

Good Lord where do I begin...

1 - If you don't properly take care of the input to the bass, the pick guard will definitely break...and even the electronics on it. this bass will not be able to work of course...or unless you find some sorta person who can soodder it …

Good Lord where do I begin...

1 - If you don't properly take care of the input to the bass, the pick guard will definitely break...and even the electronics on it. this bass will not be able to work of course...or unless you find some sorta person who can soodder it / fix it for you (highly unrecomended)

2 - Like many squiers, the Damn knobs fall off like mad! for like (exageratiopn) a day it will fall off. Once that happens it's even more a piece of Sheet.

3 - I have no idea what you call them but the thingie that holds the strings at the headstock I call the "Bass Heads" (Sorry if I'm stupid but yeah). They are small. It's just really annoying because I have ringing all over the fret board for the A string. If you ever have problems knowing the difference between Squier and Fender basses, look at the heads. NOtice Fender has bigger heads and that is truly a major difference because the Squier heads are smaller and provoke ringing in the bass.

Squier could've done a better job but of course they are in the business for a bunch of newbs / new bassist etc. Hence Cheap everything. The pick guard as mention is crappy if you don't put your cable through your strap (can't explain without showing). The Cable input jack head thingie sticks out like a middle finger because eyou put it in the bass perpendicular to the bass. IF you happen or someone else happens to step on the choard and the bass moves fast or suddenly away from the chord...it will shred the pick guard and you'd have to shell out another $25 (i think) for another pick guard.

If you decide to get this bass, then by all means do it but strongly read this review over again. Yes I have to admit that it is a good bas but for a maximum of two years. I don't even play bass I just found it intersting and easy to play. My bass player already owns a Fender Jazz Bass and it is way better than stupid Squier. So if you decide to get this bass, have money planned to get a new one within 5 months min. If you want a bass...hold off for a Squier Jazz bass because I hear dit's really good or simply a Fender p bass itself. If you want this bass for a mere short time and looking for a punk guitar, GET THE MARK HOPPUS.

So once again, P Bass Squier is no good

Bought for £200 in 1990 or 1991 from a guitar shop in Southend-on-Sea. I can't remember what it was called. Bought as an upgrade from a truly dreadful Marlin Precision copy

This is a Korean model made back in the days before the Japanese and Korean Squiers were really cheap and shoddy. By today's standards we're in Fender Mex territory. At the time, I couldn't afford a Fender but why would I need one?!? It was and remains a quality guitar at an affordable price.

I have only ever had two problems with this bass. Firstly, the truss rod in the neck slowly unwound itself over time and lots of playing. This is apparently not uncommon with P and J-basses as the low frequencies cause vibrations …

I have only ever had two problems with this bass. Firstly, the truss rod in the neck slowly unwound itself over time and lots of playing. This is apparently not uncommon with P and J-basses as the low frequencies cause vibrations which loosen the truss rod. Everything is back in line but it needs checking now and again. The other problem was that the output from the pickups was nothing like loud enough compared to the Thunderbird I bought fairly recently. Well it was never going to be... I upgraded the pickups with a set of high-output Gotohs and it's like a new instrument, £30 well spent...

This is nothing if not solid. The neck is nicely finished with a rosewood fingerboard which is extremely smooth with big fat frets. The tuners are huge, not the little cheap ones they started putting on Squiers. The neck fits very tightly into the body with no gaps at all. The body is heavyish with the obligatory thick Fender/Squier cellulose which only has a tiny chip in it after nearly 15 years of use. The electrics are basic but sound, apart from upgrading the pickups I've left it all alone.

This guitar has been my main instrument until recently and has never let me down. A modern Squier P-bass is unlikely to come near it in terms of build quality. If you can find an old one, buy it. The name on the headstock might be different but an old Squier will beat a cheap modern Fender hands down

I like how they make their guitars, and i also like how it has its own certain sound to it. It looks very beutiful, and it is great for just sitting around and playing, or playin with friends. I would definantly recomend this to anyone, because it has great durability, it is a brand name guitar, and it also is the best bass guitar you can buy. The nobs on my guitar have not fallen off yet, but alot of my friends guitars nobs have, so i think i got off pretty well with getting a fender precision bass. I would recomend getting a used one to start out with. You always want one that is very nice, and it can be a good one to practice on. I think the used ones would be very good for beginers like myself earlier on.

I dont like how occasionaly will not sound right, mine sometimes gets out of tune easily, which is a hassel trying to fix every single week. The nobs I heard can also get loose, but it has never happend to me. It also is an expensive guitar, so depending on how much you want to spend, I would recomend it to a bassest who really wants to play a bass.

The construction is beuitiful, and it will last a long time. I got mine black, and none of the paint is wearing off. I like the shape of it also, it has a unique shape of its own. The things is constructed very nicely, i had a friend over, and he was playing it really hard. It was fine after he was finished with it. It has a beutiful body, and can go through some heavy damage.

This is a great guitar for beginers and also for experienced guitar players that like the bass. It has great sound, and it also has great texture whenever I play it. I recomend it to anyone that would want to buy a bass guitar, especially young people.

    Fender Precision Bass

I purchased this Bass from Ted Herberts' music mart. I bought it originally because my Band Instructor needed a bass player, I was interested and took it up. I paid $350 for this Bass new (got a discount because my instructor is a FREQUENT buyer). This bass has the metallic blue color.

I like everything about this unit. Works perfectly, makes no "noise" Whatsoever and Is a great bass period. I started playing four months ago, and this bass has taken anything I've done to it (dropping it, using picks heavily) and still not a scratch on it.
The bass stays in tune all the time so i can just pick it up and jam. All you people who think USA made basses are better, you are wrong. I work with a…

It is overall a great unit.

    I really have no complaints!!

Great Construction, perfect sound clarity and made in mexico! This bass is even better than alot of USA precision basses.

The only reason the USA ones are more expensive, is because people in the USA work for more $$$!

Mexican made basses are great! Dont be ripped off my USA ones!

    SUPER BASS!!!

The only way i'd replace it, is if it broke!!

I bought this from a local guitar shop for about $250 canadian.

It's a good beginner bass, and nothing more. It's fairly easy to play/slap on and it isn't very expensive. After 4 years of playing it, the neck has warped(fret buzz) the volume pot crackles, and a tuning head broke off, yet I can still play use it and it hasn't completely fallen apart (yet)

Hmm where to begin. Bad quality. Bad soldering job inside, had many problems with the volume pot/tone pot. Had to replace the jack because it "crackled" and was extremely annoying. Neck warped fairly easily....perhaps I got a bad Squire....

I play double bass in the worship band in my church, and I wanted to get a bass guitar. Everyone I talked to said Fender. I borrowed a Deluxe Jazz Bass from my friend, and loved it. So I went to my local guitar center one day and picked up a Precision. I got it for $350, and I also bought a black pearl pickgaurd with it (which looks exellent on the black bass) for $50.

I've had this bass for about 3 months, and I love it. Fender basses are known for they're tone and ability to play all different types of music. The sound is excellent whether I'm playing rock, to jazz, to country or anything Its tone is perfect. I like the split pickup, and the way it feels in your hands. Also, I like the F…

There are only a couple things I don't like. For one, its a pretty heavy bass and can give your shoulder an ache after awhile. And the bridge, or shall I say the bent piece of metal Fender tries to pass as a bridge, Is only so-so. There are only 20 frets, but then again, isn't the point of a bass to make a low powerful sound? So that doesnt really bug me that much.

The quality is great. No damage or marks at all. There is almost no buzzing in the frets, Only when you play at the very back or the space betwenn the frets. The neck is put on securly and the tuners dont slip at all.

I think its one of the best basses you can get as a beginner-intermediate player. If you are very experienced you might want to get a better bass but this is an overall great bass. Many more pros than cons.

I bought it in Zagreb, Croatia for about 250 dollars. I bought it because I needed it for my band.

Although this is pretty cheap bass guitar, it sounds good. I think that main reason is the Standard Fender Bass pick-ups (which are present in my bass). It's heavy and durable, and it's comfort (not as Fender Precision Bass, but...).

The most annoying thing to me was the some noise (you could barely hear it) coming from amp. I thought that something was wrong with amp (Yamaha F-20B), and I went to my uncle and checked with his amp (Ampeg SVT-200 head through Marshall-250R cab), but it was the same noise...And then I realized that I have to open my bass. And I did. I did some repairings (wires were wrong connected) - and that's it! Now it's kick-ass-bass! And the neck needs to be more fixed (it's too large at the bottom)

Construction? The construction is average, maybe little better. Quality? Hmmm....That's good question. I think that this bass is good, but you shouldn't expect too much. I don't consider myself as a "quality expert", but it should be more quality

This bass is good for practice, beginners, and for gigs. But if you want to have recording bass, it'll better if you get real Fender bass...That's my opinion, but when I fixed this bass, it has great sound for recording, practice and gigs. I use it through Ampeg 100 Watt V-4BH tube amp and Ampeg SVT-410HLF cab...It's great. Sounds great. I always wanted my bass to sound like NIRVANA's (reason which I use Ampeg) - and I did it!

I bought this bass at guitar center a couple of months ago. It is my second axe, i also have a Dean. I payed around $350 for it.

The bass is awesome. It has an incredible punchy sound to it which i really like. It is built like a rock and it is never out of tune. For $350, this is one of the best basses you can buy.

The volume and tone knobes are a little loose, but i can live with that, otherwise i have no complaints.

It is like a rock. The only way to destroy it is to burn it!

If you want a good serious bass then a fenderp bass is for you. I recommend guitar center because they rock!

So despite the potential limitations, I put a 10 because it no n'achte Precision for 5 pickups and an electronic active.
It's olympic white color with black plate, a beautiful look that you can see here on my profile ( https://fr.audiofanzine.com/membres/?idmembre=2763 ) .

    UTILIZATION

The handle, as I suggested, is a rgal. The game is fast, Access in acute done everything comfortable. The bass is quite lgre, which n'tait not always the case with the original era. It is perfectly balance.
Ct's nothing saying it is a Precision!

    SOUNDS

I use this bass with an Ampeg Rocket Bass B-100R, mainly to play covers of old standards (rock, blues, soul, etc.)..
Nothing dsagrable report, on the contrary, find the sound of Jamie Jamerson and Donald "Duck" Dunn is easy.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use this bass for 5 months, alternating with a Music Man StingRay 5-string.
The ratio quality-price is my opinion excellent. I have a lot of jou Precision before it, including "vintage" amricaines, and they did nothing more than mine in terms of sound and playability
If c'tait again, yes I would do without a shadow of a hsitation.
