    Still going strong in 2020

I bought my 2002 Yamaha BB604 used in 2008 for around $400US. I had it professionally setup and it's been perfect ever since. Action is still low and even, no fret buzz anywhere, electronics all working well. Fret finish and fingerboard are great.

Only repair was to replace the output jack (it was worn out from a lot of use) a couple of years ago. Only change I ever made to the setup was to re-intonate the G string when I recently switched from roundwounds to flatwounds. I will eventually switch back to roundwounds because this bass is really good for slapping and roundwounds work a bit better. But I have enjoyed the thump of the flatwounds.

The bass is a bit heavy (it has an alder body) but it's well-balanced on the strap. The battery lasts a long time. I play at least 1 hour per day and I can get 6 months out of one battery (and that includes leaving it plugged in accidentally overnight a couple of times).

I don't know what these cost today but if you are considering one and the neck looks good and the electronics all work then you should have no reservations. I doubt you'd be able to find a better bass anywhere near the cost of one of these.

I was looking for a moderate priced bass with a high dollar sound and look. I got a great deal through Musicians Friend and got this bad boy for right around $300.00

The looks with the gold hardware and sleek body design are incredible. The action in this bass is outstanding. The tonal controls are limitless. The active pickups are a must. I've had mine for about 4 months now and I couldnt be more pleased. By far the best quality bass for the buck.

A little on the heavy side but nothing unbearable.

Solid body and durable. Nice accenture.

Bottom line is BUY THIS BASS!!!! You will not be dissapointed and will become a Yamaha lover after the first string is struck.

I got it from a local retailer near where i used to live. At the time i paid 580euros but was probably overchared a little bit as it was the only music retailer in town and had no competition.

Everything pretty much. Iv had it for about 18 months now and its still playing strong. You can get all sorts of sounds out of it, i hardly ever fiddle with the EQ on my amp anymore because i can do it all from my bass. The natural finish is beautiful.

    Nothing.

Well constructed and quite strong, mines had a few bangs but its fine.

Quality bass. I reccomend it to anyone, if your looking for a bass that has an excellent sound at an excellent price then the BB604 is your answer.

I purchased this Bass from PMT Oxford. I tried several active Bass's & travelled many miles before deciding on this little beauty. I paid £275 & and they threw in a gig bag as well, but I am a regular customer.

The Bass is light and well balanced, the sounds you get from this bass are brilliant no matter what style you play you won't be dissapointed. I was looking for a deep warm sound to rival my vintage Fender Jazz and got the sound I wanted no problem. My Bass is the wine coloured version and looks great with the gold hardware. And at the price I paid you simply couldn't go wrong.

    Nothing really.

I would strongly recommend this Bass to anyone.

I bougt it in a local ''guitar paradise'' . It's one of the largest guitar stores in the Netherlands. I tried at least fifteen other basses before buying this one.

What is not to like? I love it! This is my third bass now, and I realy love it. The sound is great. You can get all sorts of different sounds from it. The looks are also great, mine has a natural finish, and the gold electronics really set is off.

I can't come up with anything bad. Maybe it's a bad thing no gigbag or other extra's come with it, but for this price, that's quite understable.

Great quality. I've had it for 5 months now, and no damage yet.

I love it. I love it even more then the fender jazz bass I bougt a few years ago, and it's much cheaper. I think it's one of the best basses on the market, and it's certainly the best for this price.
At yamaha's you pay for quality, not for the brand name (like with some more exprensive basses)

Low 24 frets with 2 microphones simple.
    Channel stocky, rosewood fingerboard.
5 rglages knobs for volume, bass, treble, midrange, micro balance + a switch to mute / unmute the mediums.

    UTILIZATION

This bass is trs enjoyable play and the body is built for easy Access in treble.
The sound is really great for a bass of this price.

    SOUNDS

The sound does not really go anywhere but personality.
I plug this little gem of a 150W Warwick Sweet 15.

The SETTING THE bass + amp for those can not get any sound prs.
