Needless to resubmit, so I will speak only of its advantages and disadvantages ...

UTILIZATION

starting with its quality / price secondhand report because it is not uncommon to find a GX700 less than 100 € now and sometimes with a MIDI pedal for 30-40 € more ... making it an excellent deal for those seeking a complete multi-effects and quality, also capable of beautiful cleans.

The effects are of good quality and comparable to Boss pedals: compressor, noise gate, reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, etc. ... anything goes and it sounds!

Against by the programming is a bit laborious, it is quite far from plug and play, but it is common to 95% of multi effects ... he will spend time there!

SOUND QUALITY

So let's be clear: the preamp is clearly exceeded in respect of saturated sounds, it turns quickly to nasal, with the exception of using the simulator baffles, in this case a very stereo but much less garish result we get.

The cleans against by sounds are clear and crystalline property, fenderien clean arpeggios on a Roland or adding a little chorus and delay is divine!

To overcome the saturation weaklings, so I used this multi effect with a preamp tube in the loop (Rocktron Piranha), the preamp therefore generates me the crunch and saturated, the cleans are operated directly from the GX700, all balanced DNAS a Peavey Triple XXX head and his big 4x12.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than 15 years, but I'm now going to very heavy in terms of multi effects preamp (Fractal), he has made are working honestly and has followed me all this time in the studio and in concert without failing, which is significant for such a small price.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for almost fifteen years. I note that although the technology is changing much in some areas, in terms of his "guitar", we have, I think, reached a "plateau". Manufacturers offer constantly new products but nothing really amazing. I, at one point, tried to improve my sound. I invested in the POD XT Live, the Nova System, the axis ultra-FX, the Torpedo VB 101. Despite the "obvious quality of many of these machines, I always return to my Boss GX 700. I got her beautiful clean tones, nice crunch, nice warm and clear distortion. Course, I do go output in the V-Twin mesa boogie to add a little something heat. Anyway, if I had to keep a multi-effects, it would be this one! I record with the GX700 live in the console ( sound card). I also heads tube amp and very good combo fender "super field XD" with which I get good results. Especially classic jack (microphone in front of the HP) or so that the torpedo not bad but sounds digital still ... For less than 100 euros on occasion, you can get this fabulous little machine that far exceeds his successor BOSS GT pro. Take your time to adjust your sound and ideally to make it through a pedal lamp type AMT SS20 or mesa boogie V-twin (I prefer mesa boogie) clear channel with little gain and you still see that old means exceeded. Far from it!!

UTILIZATION

The config is pretty simple when you have already used to tweak multi-effects. The manual I have ever had. It publishes its easily after there are many parameters, it takes a lot of tests to find their sound.

SOUND QUALITY

Effects are typed 80's. I liked the compressor, noise gate / limiter, the reverbs and delays. The flanger is a little "rocket", the same for chorus, fairly average. The amp sims are good for the clean and crunch. One can easily find a good clear sound, but the guitar is fairly respected. Out of the crunch distos synthetic sound very cold and drafts are I think. Can not play with metal. Note that this is not really multi for beginners: every param (number) goes from 0 to 100, or to many of them over 60 is very risky

OVERALL OPINION

I used around a year répets. I had other models, I just want something fairly advanced. I sold it because of distos that were unbearable despite weeks of careful adjustments.

I used with a MIDI pedal Boss FC-50 and an expression pedal. This is essential.

The price of occas' is certainly a good deal.

I buy around 1997 ... very easy to program.

The "only" trouble I had ... which is still pretty bad ...
one time ... in the extensive show, the sound cut, nothing! ... what I fesait?
Instinctively turned off and on again .... the gaff!
It will re-initialize ... complete ... all sounds programmed for years
are missing in a second ... and no, I've never been able saugarder the bank of provided .... not that I did not try! but it never work ... try with MC-50 ... in a laptop ... niet! So, since 1997 .... I lost my sounds about 7 times ... most of the time, because the internal battery that keeps the sound in memory ... when it is exhausted ... I lost all my sounds ...
And I do not crank ... rack-mount only ...
BUT midi program .... what a joy!

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are generally sufficiently credible to be all used.
I personally do not like chorus and flanger effects and other jazz-rock for years 70-80 (beurk. .. No jazz rock, huh: scratch their sound!), So I am not commenting on them there, and modulators find some "cheap".
Having used some time to harmonize on a piece of Queen, I can say it is fulfilling its role, particularly by the fact that it is adjustable note by note.
In terms of distos, the few types of bases are offered eclectic, allowing to go to the crunchy distortion well stinging through the vintage just yuck it right with pace and a good grain .

I use the GX-700 The Beast with a lag, the two allows me a wide range of style all very believable, whether from rock to Jet, Queen and ACDC, reggae, variety or the electro, digging a little in the proposed modulations!
I went directly to table it until there is 1 year, and the sound was very clean, precise and versatile. I still come to pass in an amp (transistor fault means ^ ^), which gives it a warmth and a body that ultimately sorely miss him nonetheless when alone (that is that a preamp ', after all). And I had two occasions to pull through a good tube amp (the one I do not know that it marks, and the other an Orange), and I was really won ... Heat in a clean tones recall who know a good strat, and a depth in distos that provide some fun!

OVERALL OPINION

It's been 8 years that I use on stage, controlled by a MIDI footswitch and expression pedal (parameterizable as desired for volume, whawha, harmonize ...), and have absolutely no desire for anything else (well if a tube amp to put him in c ..!).
on the other hand for the studio, his scans are not sufficiently credible for efficient rendering. The distos not enough bodies, clean sounds seem a bit flat, hollow.

I started with that scene, and have never felt the need of something else. And enhanced it in their own way (I prefer the example whawha Vox, therefore no longer uses the GX, but have practiced for nearly six years before switching!), I believe the GX can find its place amongst all config wanting to be a minimum in its wide range of sound.
It is not up certe modeling of some recent models (yeah the old grandpa is), but its price, reliability (no single failure in over 8 years!), Rack configuration (unlike to pedal effects GT-6 or Vox that if something goes wrong condemn you the pedal completely, while all you have to buy a controller for the GX, so keep your settings, etc ...) and versatility make it an ally for the stage.
After frankly, I do mainly music-hall, with covers of all styles ... So that the palette of sounds addressed does not require an authenticity foolproof, however for a group of "style", either outright or purely reggae metal, I think the models are not enough mouth for "having the sound". Sounds clear enough slap, the distos not deep enough ... But here I am talking about something I do not know, these are just assumptions! If anything it would be just as satisfying!

In any case, if the choice had to be rebuilt, it would be uncritically that I will opt for the GX-700, whose versatility (again ^ ^) is equaled its value!

Come on, now I get my ticket for this closet at Roland advertising! : D

OVERALL OPINION

I used this multiFX for 4 years. First with a marshall vs 230R. It was my first multi-purpose. You think the joy on hearing that!! Are there any full effect!
But then I pass a rack system with mesa boogie quad preamp, a musicmanLuke, a Start + + amp Rocktron Velocity 250 Rocktron four speakers.
And I took the face for several months because I found that the mediums around 1, 1.5 kHz were unclear, did not care a bit shit. And even the sound was not like I wanted ... Y 'had a shit, as they say! a sound that assaulted ...
And I tried to remove my GX700 ... and: MIRACLE !!!!! There was no shit!
So I am both very unhappy, but we must not forget that this is not the TC electronics, or the lexicon! It allowed me to start!!
Especially, if you really want something serious: Do as I do: Buy G-Major TC! It's not in the same court! Or one of intelliflex rocktron!

SOUND QUALITY

L is ca gte! For my part, I think the sound quality of the pedals is better than the rack. The compressor and qualiser are horrible!
The reverbs and echoes too dnaturent the original sound.
The overdrive / saturation and lack EHJV DEFINITIONS.
The pramp really mdiocres (all fawn, it is not a pramp and in this area, nothing will replace the lamps!).
In short, from the tuner I'm really the quality of the GX-700.

OVERALL OPINION

I possde since 1998 and the era (my first c'tait effect), I did not want to ruin me buy X pedals. So J'tais Fully satisfied and pleased me plutt well (it even made me right good and loyal service).
Now, I have become (very) demanding quality sound and I really find the GX-700 limit that level.
This is the well of a multi-effects "low end", which satisfied most of the guitar beginners or those without a big budget, but for others, go your way ...

There are all the standard effects of modern guitarist. The quality is at the meeting, forcing Boss. You bluff the audience with no problem. All prints are guitarists to hear what comes out of the bote ....
The reverb (numrique) is very well. It can play sounds super clear crystal, the crunchy distortion, sounds super trashy good fats, etc..
By dmerdant well for programming, we can approach trs prs sounds of the largest multi-effects with this.

I dj for 7 years I use 10% of its possibilities I think .... I mainly use a dozen sounds.

I use it as multi effect loop PSA1 a preamp in front of a lamp 2x20W power amp and speaker cabinet 2x12 "H & K or 2 marshall 1912 cabinet. Preamp PSA1.

I Modre my words though. I found that the distorted sounds n'taient not optimal and I set my complt with no Amp PSA-1. L conmpte I realized you could get much better than the GX. I use virtually no distortion or preamp section.
However for the price, it's still good. But it has aged, it's clear ...

No glitch in the program change.
Only Hics: A bit noisy on very large sound, the lack of transparency when used with an external preamp, a shame to have limited the quality of the converters of the loop.

OVERALL OPINION

I possde 4 years. I just remove it from my set, replaced by a small collection of WLDP .. more transparent and much easier to solve.
Likes: The loop dplacable, the modularity of ease of use, sound, color: o)
I like least: the difficulty set sounds saturated. noise, lack of transparency.

I tried lots of multi effect in the same price range, even a little more CHRE, and I board not specially sduit.
For the price it's really very very good

We regret the mini jack for headphones and no XLR input, however there is a good range of its bringing together almost all the Boss pedals. Excellent on a console preamps with its HP and its simulation with any combination of speaker size and taken from his microphone.

I have the GX-700 for 8 years and I'm pretty happy overall. I use it in stereo on my Marshall 8240 combo using only the power amps to it and I have nothing to envy the owners of big stuff. Everything has already been written about in other posts. Note especially that the chaining effect can be modified (very handy for connecting an external amp after comp / wah / distortion and before modulation). The chromatic tuner is also very useful.

UTILIZATION

No need to read the manual to create its sound, everything is intuitive and the menus are very well finished. I use with GX-700 Personal Sound Station, a patch editor that runs on Windows, available on https://grunw.hypermart.net/ and it is a treat.

SOUND QUALITY

The distos are oks. I do not use little or preamp (I have a JMP-1), the modulations are most excellent. Note that even by sending all in a power amp, playing with the simulator from HP can be obtained excellent results.

OVERALL OPINION

I use almost the modulations and is a real pleasure. The settings are accurate and it is possible to obtain excatement the sound you are looking for.
Bought about 8 years ago, I could never take the default. The price of OCCAZ is a bargain. If I am flying, I will not purchase another nine multi purpose or later but by seeking an opportunity.

The effects as I have said I have satisfied simultaneously for hp I put 10 or 20 live and + - 90 in mic level.
for the rest of the noise gate and the whole is quite homogne I know by heart now but it still happens to me suprendre. We can do stuff with the egg free chaining.
By simultaneously against the preamp's not terrible ben c I 'm not used.

I use it for a long time now lol. If I have to keep that is that it suits me well. I 've try others but I find no better that what we say ...... It is different but not better ok that is just a matter of taste ...
