Hello,
I'm new to audio recording and this is probably a silly question.
I need to record a violin player just for monitoring progress and sharing with friends. Until now I've been using the computer mic.
I have a Scarlett 2i2 (first generation) and a Philips SBC ME570 microphone. It's a stereo electret condenser mic that works with AA batteries (no phantom power) and has a TRS stereo jack (no XLR).
Will this mic work with the Scarlett 2i2 without damaging either the interface or the mic?
How to I plug it in? (I guess as line in?)
thanks.

Hi self powered mics should work.
In your case it has a trs connector what means it has to use the line in port

I can not find output specs... Other than its impedance of 600ohm.

So the only thing you can discover is that the mic signal is way to low and thus not work with your 2i2 unless you use some kind of adapter to change the trs to xlr
