Hey guys,

I am looking for a new I/O and it seems that Focusrite Scarlett Solo seems to be the one I am going to purchase. However, I have seen that they just recently released the Gen 2.

I am going to purchase the Gen 1, however, since it is cheaper and the changes from Gen 1 and Gen 2 don't really affect my needs (here is a nice article comparing both generations: Scarlett Gen 1 vs Gen 2 comparison.

I have been using up to now Native Instrument Guitar Rig Session I/O. But since the newest macOS update it is not supported anymore, thus my Mac cannot find the peripheral rendering the I/O useless (and the Native Instruments discontinued updating the drivers...) :(

My question (and fear) now is, if I buy Focusrite Scarlett Solo Gen 1, will it be supported by the newest macOS (Sierra V.10.12.2) and its future updates? Is it worth buying Gen 1 or should I add the extra bucks and go for the Gen 2 (which, as mentioned, don't affect my needs).

I hope you guys can help me out!

Looking forward to any replies, and thanks in advance :)
