Topic Saffire on Windows 7 64bit sound distorted
Hi

Help please,

I have the original Saffire that has been working perfectly on a Windows 7 32 machine for many years. I have recently built a new machine and installed Windows 7 64 bit so I can continue using it. The firewire card is a SIIG 2-port PCIe card that is based on the TI XIO2200AZGW chip. I have installed everything as it was under the old system. All the same software and driver versions, all the latest. Problem is that all sound is horribly distorted. Both from any Windows software and from Sonar, which I use.
The only difference that I have spotted is that, if I bring up the Sound panel from Control Panel, right click on the speaker, choose Properties and then the Advanced tab, the 2 sample rates I am offered are

16bit, 44100 Hz(CD Quality), or
24bit, 44100 Hz(Studio Quality)
where as, on the old Windows it was 48000 Hz.

Be grateful for and ideas.

Dave
