No problem indeed ...
I am Sonar since the beginning (or almost), ie the time where it was not called yet Sonar and facilities have always been easy. The Updates and upagrades are also no problem. It is very easy sound cards and configure Manire optimizes the installation without bother with.

ADQUATION / PERFORMANCE

Prs we can just do everything with Sonar (I have the Producer Version: Version 7). I read from time to time trials of other sequencers and I do not see what he lacks. On a Pentium 4, no stability problems, the software runs well and displays a latency of 5ms.
Only complaint that discouraged me to use: poor recognition of the south which in my case never went any sound on a track midi drums with EZdrummer in VST. I had to select several times the entrance to the track to finally get something. I may be missing something but it took my head and suddenly I dropped.
That said when any work, this software is really nice and efficient.

OVERALL OPINION

So I used it a few months before coming under Reaper.
The interface is clear and intuitive, the CPU consumption is reasonable and there are many possibilities.
8 audio multitrack recording and a midi track without any problems once it's working, what is not systematic in my case.
I will not make that choice which forced me to much research and testing of any kind without the correct result.
I use Reaper and now I will not go into Sonar.

Installing Windows Classic, good manual in French (and German too), you can choose the language of installation, excellent. For licenses trs is simple, numro for Sonar on bote and registration on their site VSampler

My PC is a DELL Inspiron 500m laptop with Centrino 1.4GHz 1GB of RAM, with US428 in sound card. C works great, no limit for my style of music (can be for those who love the synths with lots of effects would be limited), I put everything I want without fear. Trs is stable, I play the journalist entires without touching anything, the only way to plant is unplug the sound card!

OVERALL OPINION

Sonar 3 was released in November 2003, I upgrad ds it came out (I am user of Cakewalk for 5 years, and first Music Creator HS2002 and Sonar 2 XL and Sonar 3 PE), and I am glad trs done. The console is very practical with its busses and flexible display, the MIDI routing can work flexibly trs, the interface is comfortable and pretty (which n'tait not the case with Sonar 2), performance, stable, what more?

I use Sonar 3 Production Edition for about two months, in fact I had before Sonar 2 XL, Sonar and Pro 1 Aidio 9. I have my license since April 2004 and I am fully satisfied. I turned to this product pat me on APRS have BMD testing available at the cakewalk. it is relatively cheaper than cubase or logic of late PC. it is also seeing more powerful, its audio engine is powerful, it is in consquent edition, the management of the South is exemplary, the video is very well gr.

Good product but beware:
I would warn you (for those who buy their software) when you do your upgrade, especially not to jump by EDIROL (which is the distributor in France cakewalk). Shipping costs are simply monstrous to send a program: 15 Euros. Next delivery is made by a company which is called GLS, the company delivers you to office hours, so when you are away. And the surprise is that for you relivrent they must call a number that cost you 1.34 Euro the call, then 0.34 euros per minute, with little music and home after 2 minutes you are told to remember another day. For now it's three weeks I expect the software, I always failed to make contact with GLS and the total cost for me to deliver is 25 euros (but I still have not)! The kind of distributor that does not give reasons to be honest in software! Really unfortunate.

I've been using cakewalk since pro audio 7, Professional quality software all the way.

Great Midi and audio capabilities - rewire, VST wrapper (built-in), and the ability to run many aux busses are great for flexibility and usefulness. The only thing that might be a hindrance is that VST instruemtns and effects must be converted to DXI using the included wrapper - but all workes perfect once it is converted. The 4.0 version has surround sound, but is truly useless for music (good for film), but 3.1 was truly the zenith of audio-only PC DAWs

Sonar 3.0 is very easy to use - although unless you are very aquainted with Cakewalk products, you have to read the manual. Once you understand the logic, you will not need to do anything but look throught the menus.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The sound quality is excellent - light years ahead of Cubase VST and previous DAW iterations (old Cakewalk). The quality truly depends on your interface, but the program does not add any noise to a recoring that wasn't there ot begin with (transparent).

Never had any problems - everything works as it should.

OVERALL OPINION

The only reason I give it a "9" is due to the fact that with all DAWs, sometimes it hinders your creativity with too many menus and too much going on in the screen views.
