This Vox AC100CPH was my first real amp in 10 years since 2004 when i stopped . Then I started playing in a band again in 2014 when i bought the Vox used for !
$300 . Been buying other amps trying to find a better tone , like we all do lol . So I have bought a Marshall JCM900SLX that was a two channel beast , then a Fender Supersonic 60 watt head , then a Orange Rockerverb 50 mk2 head , and last but not least a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier RevG , and after trying all these heads , I keep coming back to my Vox AC100CPH . It just works for me . I use a OCD pedal out front , and for leads I use a Boss GE-7 equalizer in the effects loop for boost . This amp is JCM800 in spades with the OCD . I dont have the fat boost on and am always in the high gain channel i think it's channel 1 , but believe me with a Les Paul it's classic rock heaven with the gain set low , and the OCD off . Then to take it into sweet Jcm800 territory with the OCD . Then using the EQ in the loop it's a perfect boost/slash tone shaped lead that pops out with just a slight bump in the middle with everything else on 0 . It is so effective you will never use a clean boost out front ever again . I get compliments from other players all the time . Try these methods with this amp and it will be the best rock/metal/punk amp you could ever dream of . Overtones for days . I crank the master volume and use the channel volume for actual volume . I find that is the best sound . Then I crank everything on 10 except the bass , and the gain , and the channel volume . Channel volume is on 2 with master cranked , bass is on 4 , and gain is on about 6 or 7 . But all other dials are on 10 . Don't pass this amp up if you play rock punk or metal . Soo good and built like a tank . Been playing it for over 5 years and it hasn't needed any tubes or anything . Best amp ever

USE

The use of this amp is a play of child!
a foot switch for each channel and a second (very convenient) to the reverb
the strictly necessary!

Attention anyway, this is not a Marshall, and the sound is typical of vox c is to say dirty! (Low mids).
Channel 2 offer when it has modern sound while remaining in his typed very British!

Direct descendant of VOX AC100, VOX amp full AC100CPH is the most powerful lamps produced by VOX.
At the time, the legendary bands of the mid-1960s used it to turn. But it was all very unstable and the story even said that The Who started breaking their guitars amps because of this instability.
This amp was produced in a limited way, between 2007 and 2009 was not a great commercial success. This was mainly due to the fact that its starting price was considered too high.
The price began to decline once the first copies on the second hand market.

100 Watt lamps.
Two channels:
- Channel 1 = Clear with Volume, Reverb, Tone Cut, Bass, Middle, Treble, Gain
- Channel 2 = Volume, Reverb, Presence, Bass, Middle, Treble and a "clear" switch and the other "fat".
The head also has a general master for both channels. A switch on the back allows you to switch from 8 to 16 ohm.

UTILIZATION

Very simple and basic configuration. Access to much easier knobs on the AC30 because they are presented from the front.
The sound has a lot of sins. Personally I was looking for a clear sound slap, but in a register other than the classic AC30 and I was amazed. A potato, originality and a very special grain.

SOUNDS

I mainly play on the first channel, clear sound with pedals.
I love this amp for the originality of the sound it produces, the more I've never seen another and on stage, mounted on a VOX AD412, it has the mouth and it sends.
The record is particularly good in low and midrange, what I wanted.
I play with a Höfner VTC and a Fender Tele custom.

OVERALL OPINION

Found used it a month ago, I let him go.
A little heavy (about twenty pounds), but he went on tour, I do not want others.
I also play on Marshall JCM 2000 and VOX AC30, but since this purchase, they are away.
If you have the chance to see an opportunity, try it, I guarantee you a pleasant surprise.

All lamps (EL34) is also available in 100 w. 2 channels. Well go take a look at the site, too lazy ... lol

Great idea on paper: a channel "classic" type vox from clean to crunch, and a more modern hi gain channel. I know there were some with this concept, but generally, the clean sucks. Ben there, it's the opposite.

UTILIZATION

Extremely simple, except for a child who lived in the forest raised by wolves until now, no lizard. Lack a boost on the clean channel, and eventually sat on the channel. It would eventually get used to the 4 channel amp!
The "cut" used to "contour" treble, a kind of presence reversed "smoothifier" sound.

+ Bright switch on channel 2 and fat ...

SOUNDS

Well ... it gets complicated. Channel 1: [rectified after the second trial] For an EL34 amp, a good clear sound, largely inspired by the legendary AC30. You can play on the gain to do cruncher. But then: this is not the AC30, but a copy. I'm not looking necessarily the characteristics of 30, and if it is worse and more ... The sound is quite colorful, as a result, station to use a distortion pedal or overdrive. It is certainly warm, but we really do not play in the same court. Pushed crunch, we get the AC30's drooling, but its dynamics.

Channel 2: big rout ... Not quite frankly, the saturation rate is not great, it's not necessarily a concern, but where it really fishing is that the grain is absolutely awful. If you liked the Marshall Vintage Modern, it may please you, but for a majority, yuck. Now it's a 100w head, and you know the stores ... I wanted to push it a little to see. I try again, however (I tested in the wake JVM, orange, Mesa Stiletto, in short I made quickly) In any case the grain is pretty bad, even with the fat switch. It looks like the peavey first transistor.

The peavey classic in similar functions, provide a much better performance.

OVERALL OPINION

Good, very disappointed the Taz. I put a lot of hope in this bug, since it is exactly this kind of config 'in the old (2 channels, and basta!). The hi gain channel just seemed really exploitable.

If the sound was more clear "sculptable", one would have considered him an added overdrive, a mutli-purpose, a preamp ... If you are interested in an amp with a nice clear sound, then you should choose the AC30 (attention, capricious with pedals). In gender, Peavey classic 30 and 50 are much more interesting: the channel has sat a beautiful grain, but if it does not become you, these bugs are a clear channel that showcases all the overdrive pedal or distos. Test including the classic Delta Blues 15 ': probably the best.
