sounds good

Amt Electronics Tweed SoundPublished on 04/05/11 at 15:07
The classic series from AMT in my opinion is the best sounding pedals that they offer. I like the tone and how close they come to sounding like a real amp. I have to give this disclaimer though that I am not a distortion pedal guy and I like to get my gain from my amp overdriving. That being said the review will go through that prism.

AMT has delivered a pedal that simulates a Fender Tweed amp cranked up with volume to get those tubes distorting. They have done well at emulating through this pedal. UTILIZATION

This pedal is very simple to use as it only has four control knobs. Consisting of Level, High and Low EQs, and a Drive knob. Pretty basic and easy to figure out.

Not really need for a manual as it is a simple operation that sounds goo in just about every situation. You should have this pedal up and running with a smooth ans warm overdrive that will be immediately appealing to your guitar tone.

SOUND QUALITY

I love the sound of this pedal. It has a classic rock to country to pop sound all in one. You can use this pedal in so many ways. In front of a clean amp with a Strat or a Tele and you will get a solid country tone. This pedal is great with a Tele at pulling off some chicken picking. I like the way it compliments your guitar and amp and not giving you the sound of the pedal but rather tag teaming your current rig tone.

This pedal also sounds great in front of a overdriven amp for a boost. You will get a good sustain and sizzle added to your tone with this pedal. This pedal won't give you a lot of distortion just a slight ovderdrive sound.

OVERALL OPINION

This is a great alternative to an Ibanez TS9 or 808. It is fairly inexpensive and they come in new at a around $110. This is a great price for what you get and it is true bypass which won't affect you signal or tone when running it in the off position.

I would recommend this to any player who need just a simple TS9 or slightly overdriven pedal that is looking for a pop, country, or mild rock tone. It is a 100% analog drive unit so it will sound very natural and fulfilling to play with.
