SOUND QUALITY

At a time when the analog to the coast, this is THE one that will pedal unknown brand costing an arm
And yet, this BOSS brand by which all begins often in the world of effects, is a safe bet.
Zikos used by many, the sound is recognizable.
Discrete arpeggio or a saturation radical, it is a pleasure to play with.
Flange of the swirling jet, or hovering effect (coupled to a delay, excellent), we do not get tired.

OVERALL OPINION

6 years that I use (time flies), not always in my pedalboard but always near, I was immediately captivated and I always find a thousand ways to exploit, coupled with other effect .
In addition we find cheap secondhand easily.
Honestly if you are looking for a flanger, go for this one you will not regret it.

SOUND QUALITY

- Flanger very effective sweeping chorus, vibrato (or type) and flanger.
- I use insert on one slice of the console, or on synth, keyboards or other.
- The sound is awesome!

OVERALL OPINION

- I received this morning (bought here)!
- I tried flangers software or those built into my synths, but it's not the same!
- 50 € occase frankly seen sound and versatility of the beast, can not do better, where the max score on each item.

SOUND QUALITY

Next rglage the effect is a very effective.
About the results we obtain trs DIFFERENT, including Leslie type sounds or a tremolo compltement psychdlique pushing the rate at max.
I use a HF-2 when I want to "flanger" on the totality of the spectrum. Also with the distortion or drive for the rendering of the legendary "dcollage of Concord."
The combination with the HF-2 + distortion (Big Muff Russian for example) gives a large avalanche that can make everyone understand that the show is over.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought 40 euros, about 1 year ago. No regrets. I had tried other like Ibanez but by elimination, I took the one that suited me best.
The - is the lack of volume
The + is the diversity about the results obtained following the rglage.
To beginners, this type of effect does not turned me too but since it sticks in my set with her little sister HF-2.
With saturations as marriage is perfect. PDAL versatile sound quality, compatibility with other effects .... what more??

There are four effects available: rate, depht, res and manual
I guess that's a fact and it has an analog input jack and an output jack that's all

SOUND QUALITY

In my case my bf-3 and despite the many options in addition to the standard and ultra flanger bf-3's in my opinion can not rise to the bf-2, which generates an audible vibration much more clear sound and feel a little less cold than the BF-3.
I use almost all the time with the flanger delay dd-6 and sometimes without an amp even better to hear the typical oscillation, it makes one feel intense and almost hypnotic (some good end ...) I use drop6 an electric guitar but hey it works with any other amp and a Hughes & Kettner Warp 7.
I think this pedal is a good pedal, I've never really tested other like the tc electronics ... so I'm happy

OVERALL OPINION

I use this pedal for 4 years since I found it in the attic of my father, it dates from the 80's, I like above all the almost electric oscillation of this pedal, I prefer it that bf -3 for this reason.
The value for money is unbeatable, seriously.

BOSS of classic analog sound and cheap (secondhand forcment).
Mine must have 20 + years and is made in Japan, the best of my butcher and APRS.
4 knobs:
MANUAL: RULES central delay time of both sides which the oscillator (LFO) is going to stroll.
DEPTH: Sets the length of beach used by the susnom oscillator.
RATE: plays on the scanning speed of the LFO.
RES: dose the amount of signal returned the box to be dpart new trait.

UTILIZATION

Despite its price, to be clever I wanted to buy the MXR flanger (the REFERENCE of the flanges so it seems) ben APRS test, there's no diffrence audible for me so I kept my pedals fushia!
I do not know the BOSS BF3 BF2 but I paratdj well accomplished. As for the flanges of multi-effects: yeah, blah, it is standard trs, is made head of programming (bad faith, me?)

OVERALL OPINION

The PDAL is pleasurable because it is very easy hack.
Before addressing srieusement above, I used to just turning on the Fucksters pif, a vague plan and its liquid and could not imagine one second the sound possibilities that can be drawn (which con j ' swear ...)
The only default that I found it weak loupiote red, I do not know if it's a problem but hey .. rcurrent even if one day the j'arrte guitar, I keep it (!)
If you dgotez a CHRE too, go for it, it's a must!

UTILIZATION

The configuration is very simple, trs simple, we all agree the above.
With BF-2 with its finding is simple, find it is simple (yes sometimes on other pedals is not always empty).
A lot of sounds are possible: turning flanger, flanger static (sounds a bit metal, you can find a sitar sound), modulation depths approaching chorus, and sounds of approaching a vibrato.

SOUND QUALITY

Efficiency formidable practitioner. The BF-2 s'imprgne sound that sends him to be clear and saturated.
A classic flanger (80's), a value sre, neither cold nor hot, used by many artists (including me even one Robert Smith, Adam Jones, Stephen Carpenter, etc.).

OVERALL OPINION

This pedals is no longer distributes dsormais replaces the BF-3, with more opportunities but I am told "icy" compare its prdesseseur.
It sticks to it, we keep it, she trs good job for not too expensive (50-60 euros)

This is a great little unit. It is a fantastic sounding flanger and the lush chorusy flanger effects sound amazing. However there is another hidden gem to this pedal. It doubles as a preamp booster.

It is amazing how the limited number of amps and effects were back in the 80's to guys and still were able to pull off some of the best created rock tones to this day. Well it seems a lot of them would get really creative with the stuff that they had rather than gassing for something they didn't have.

Ronnie Le Treko used this pedal as a boost in front of a simple Marshall amp. He would run the pedal with all of the knob in the off position except for the level/volume/manual. This would give a midrange boost to the amp and would get that great tone he was so famous for in the 80's.

SOUND QUALITY

The tone of the flanger is a very good and usable tone. You get a very lush tone that really widens the signal to explore warm flanger tones. Te flanger itself is a great feature but as a get more into guitar playing instead of effects using I find myself leaning towards using it as a preamp.

If I run this pedal in front of a stock Marshall JCM800 or a Splawn QR I can get a very cool and usable Le Treko tone or just a boosted midrange distortion tone. It is cool for getting that 80's grind that was distinctly 80's hair metal.

OVERALL OPINION

These pedals have now been discontinued and have been updated with the Boss Bf-3. Pretty much the same pedal with a few minor and not that noticeable features. On the classifieds you can find this pedal for right around $50 or so. They are pretty inexpensive and not a big investment to find a cool effects pedal or booster pedal.



The BF-2 was sold from June 1980 to December 2001.

The Boss BF-2 Flanger is a pedal that's designed for electric guitar but suitable for use with any electronic instrument. It's got the standard Boss configuration that you'll find on all of their pedals that are of this size, with 1/4" jacks for input and output. It then has a battery compartment as well as a nine volt power supply jack for powering this up. It isn't going to be rack mountable since it's a stomp box.

UTILIZATION

Players with all levels of experience should be able to operate the Boss BF-2 Flanger without a problem. It's got four parameters in the form of knobs for resonance, depth, rate, and manual. Each will affect your sound pretty significantly, but a manual isn't really necessary.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound quality of the Boss BF-2 Flanger is just about as good as any flanger pedal I've used. It's not as versatile as the Boss BF-3 or some others that I've used, but it has more than just your basic flanging sounds and definitely leaves room for a good amount of possibilities. I've used it mostly with my Fender Jazzmaster and '76 Fender Twin Reverb, but have used it with other gear and it sounds just as good. It's not going to give you an endless variety of flanging sounds, but for basic purposes it does the job for me as I don't tend to use flanging all that often...

OVERALL OPINION

While they're no longer making the Boss BF-2 Flanger, it's still one of the cheapest ways to get a high quality flanger pedal. There are plenty of used ones available out there all the time for only about $40 - $50 USD, which isn't bad at all for a flanger pedal of this quality. If you use flanging all the time, it's probably best to spend a little bit more money on something like the Boss BF-3 to give you a bit more flexibility, but for those who just want something to get started with or who might not use flanging all the time, the BF-2 Flanger is perfect!

The Boss BF-2 is a simple analog flanger pedal with adjustable manual, depth, rate and res. It has a 1/4'' input and output and is not a rackable effect.

UTILIZATION

I had no problems getting this pedal working in my set up - simply plug your guitar into the input and send the output to your amp. I have not used the manual, I just use my ear and experiment with the four knobs.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects that can be gotten with this are wide and very useful. I use it a lot when I just looking for that extra fullness for a lead tone or if I am looking for that clean flange sound. I use it with electric guitar and keyboards.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had this pedal for about 2 years. While the Boss BF-3 has many more options in terms of what can be manipulated, I like the BF-2 because it is very simple to use and give me a simple flanging sound when I need it. I haven't tried out any other flanger pedals except for the Boss BF-3, which was a bit out of my price range. For the price, you can get a wide array of flange type sounds mixed with great craftsmanship that Boss offers.
