While the pedal does reduce the volume of your guitar a little bit, for the session it didn't really matter for us. However, I could see this being a pain for a live show. The pedal will undoubtedly draw comparisons the MXR Phase 90 and pedals in a similar vein due to the look and the single parameter, but is doesn't have the exact sound. The Micro Fazer is a bit less clean sounding than the Phase 90 and a bit muddier in general.

I definitely would never recommend against the Univox Micro Fazer, but at the same time it wouldn't be my first choice for a phaser pedal.
