OVERALL OPINION

I've had two days, I love this new little toys on my pedal board. I bought it because the spring reverb type of my randall was not for the style I did, I was looking for a reverb leaves a "trace" very cavernous. I had the SSAI OCCAZ of the reverb or studio amp and multi effects (boss GT3, Zoom.)
I did not want to ruin me in either a reverb pedals while j'hsitait between EHX holy grail more (I do not like the holy grail) the boss rv 5, the Marshall Reflector and digitech. At this panel is the addition of Verbzilla line 6 but I do not trust the reliability of this brand, it stopped my choice on the marshall and the boss, and I found OCCAZ a rate of from home for 80euros.

UTILIZATION

OVERALL OPINION

I use it mainly for 3 months and am Modulate Hall and could not be more pleased. indeed, may be he is better in this world (T-Rex Room-mate etc..) but given my budget, the RV5 is really shown the only candidate who is shown the height my requirements for use with keyboard. The Holy grail is to hell with a guitar, probably the best qualitprix but this is not the keyboard. not only the robustness of Boss pedals, the presence of knob Tone and the possibility of rgler reverberation time are absolutely non-behavior and negligible assets. The Boss RV-5 Digital Reverb is a newest version of the compact Boss reverb, following the RV-2 and the RV-3. The RV-5 is the most complete reverb of the bunch in my opinion, and although it's digital, it has a realistic and warm sound. The pedal has a pretty standard configuration, with stereo 1/4" connections for inputs and outputs. It's definitely nice that you've got the stereo option here! It can be powered up by either a nine volt power supply or battery. It's not going to be rack mountable as it's a stomp box...

UTILIZATION

The make up of the Boss RV-5 Digital Reverb is really straight forward, as this is a trend you'll find with most Boss pedals and is definitely something that I welcome. There are six different modes to choose from - spring, plate, hall, room, gate, and modulation. It then gives you further parameters for setting the amount of the effect you'd like, tone, and time of the reverb. It's easy enough to use that a manual surely isn't necessary.

SOUND QUALITY

The overall sound of the Boss RV-5 Digital Reverb is really impressive. With the RV-5 you're getting some really awesome reverb sounds and a ton of flexibility. In general I would tend to use the gated reverb, modulation, and plate reverb the most, but all of the modes are cool in their own ways and are certainly more than useful when used in the right situations. I primarily used the RV-5 with my Fender Jazzmaster and '76 Fender Twin Reverb when I wasn't using the built in spring reverb for the amp...

OVERALL OPINION

The Boss RV-5 Digital Reverb is probably the best bang for your buck for a professional reverb pedal. I don't own it anymore but did have it for a few years a little while back before I replaced it with my Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Reverb pedal. The Cathedral Reverb is really great and is a lot more in depth, but it's about double the price. The RV-5 can get the job done just as well for the most part, it's just simpler. At around $100 US dollars new, if you're looking for some bang for your buck in a digital reveb pedal for your guitar, the Boss RV-5 is definitely the model I'd recommend...

The Boss RV5 is a digital reverb pedal with 6 different types of reverb, each have different adjustable settings. It has most mono and stereo 1/4'' inputs and outputs. It is a traditional stompbox and is not a rackable effect.

UTILIZATION

The pedal is extermely easy to use - you pretty much just plug it in and go with it. The sounds are very easy to manipulate, 3 simple knobs for each setting - time, tone and level. I never looked at a manual because I bought mine used and never got one.

SOUND QUALITY

I love the reverb that this produces. I usually keep it on the 'modulation' setting and it is really a beautiful sound. The release and the sustain of the sound makes for a great pad-like sound when the level is up high enough. I don't use the spring setting much because I have spring reverb on my amp. The other settings are quite realistic as well, but I have a great liking for the 'modulation' setting.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had this pedal for about 2 years now and I've not had a desire to get rid of it. Whether you are looking for spacey sounds or just a dash of reverb, this pedal does what you will need in terms of reverb. I've also used some of the Electro Harmonix and Line 6 reverbs and I like the RV5 more because of its versatility. The only downfall of this pedal is the price, as its got a heavy tag for such a small pedal. However, it is a mainstay in my set up and I see myself holding onto it for awhile.
