I bought mine a while back, when this pedal first came out, I think somewhere in the range of $145. I thought the wahs were going to be really good and the distortions, too, knowing that Boss's compact pedals are the best distortion and overdrive pedals made.

The pedal is well thought up, and built by definitly someone with a great idea, but the pedal isn't that great, it could have, and should be better. The wahs are decent and it is built very well, that's all I can really say about it.

Ok, onto a review by a REAL musician... I have plenty of pedals, mainly wahs, distortions, and overdrives, then a few other pedals, but that doesn't really matter to anyone other than me. I own many wah…

Ok, onto a review by a REAL musician... I have plenty of pedals, mainly wahs, distortions, and overdrives, then a few other pedals, but that doesn't really matter to anyone other than me. I own many wahs and distortions, because I have a certain tone I like to maintain, and the Boss V-Wah is nowhere up there to satisfy my needs. 1st off, there are way to many things on this pedal, it's supposed to be a wah, not a multi effects pedal! They should have concentrated on making this pedal soley a wah! The voice mode, the Uni-V, and the distortions/overdrives/booster, all sound like crap! They are a waste, they don't sound good at all! I was so shocked to see Boss make a pedal with THEIR own distortion and overdrive tones, and they sound horrible on the wah! They are that bad, they sound like you bought a cheap, crappy $10 distortion pedal or overdrive. DO NOT BUY THIS PEDAL AND USE THE DISTORTIONS, you will be very disappointed. Yes, you can put an EQ pedal after the wah to make them sound better, but why waste time and possibly $ if you don't have an EQ pedal, they still sound pretty bad. I won't even talk about how annoying it is to switch between distortions! This pedal is literally a MESS! The voice mode is unusable, is WON'T work with your amps distortion or your distortion pedal, it's a stupid effect anyway, so don't cry over it. The Uni-V is decent, but Boss did ruin a classic! The wahs are ok, they don't sound exactly like them, only the DUnlop wah simulation, it sound the closest out of the three, and is the better of the three. The bass wah sucks, I tried it out before, nothing like the Dunlop bass wah, nothing close. The dunlop wah is the closest to actually sounding like the real thing, but isn't better than any Dunlop wah. The Vox is terrible, they just added in more mids, they took their Dunlop wah recreation, added mids to it, and called it their Vox wah, sounds very weak. The Morley wah is probably not very useful, it's a deeper wah, doesn't really work too well, unless you want to make some wierd noise that sounds like a messed up wah. It's just very deep most of the time. The advanced wah is like their Dunlop wah simulation, but just is enhanced, (find out for yourself what that means, I am taking up too much space already) The custom wah, I never wasted my time trying it out, so I don't know if it's any good or just flat out bad. If you are going to get this pedal for some stupid reason, just use it as a regular wah, and maybe the uni-v if you want, just set what wah you want, no overdrives or distortions, and just use the toe switch to turn it on and off like a regular wah pedal. And no, I heard some idiots say it takes a second or two for the pedal to turn on and off, I don't know what they are doing, but they are probably "special"?... There are 3 memory locations, another dumb idea that is totally unecessary.

Built very nicely, I don't like the dumb idea of a heel swicth. I thought it was dumb and useless, so I never even tried it out. If you buy it used or loose your manual, the manual is condensed on the bottom of the pedal. Even if you get it new, just look at the bottom if you are lost, it's easier than the stupid story they write up for you.

This pedal is WAY OVERPRICED! IT isn't worth the $$$. There are too many stupid features on this pedal that sound like crap and shouldn't even be on it, it should only have the wahs, but they are not great either. If you are willing to spend $150 on this pedal, DON'T!!! Buy the Dunlop 535Q wah, you will literally get more for your $! That is what a wah pedal should be, not some piece of digital, multi-effects wanna-be CRAP! Trust me, I've tried the Boss wah through many different types of guitars with different pickups, many diff. amps, and with many diff. distortion and overdrive pedals, it really doesn't sound that great with any kind of equipment. Trust me, GO with the Dunlop 535Q wah, or any of Dunlop's wahs, the Boss wah is a rip off, you will be disappointed. Don't believe me, go try this piece of JUNK out yourself, and compare it to REAL wah pedals like a REAL Vox wah, Morley, Dunlop, Budda, Tech 21.....

Bought it from the music store right by me for about $140, the best buy ever!!! I tried out wah's, mainly dunlop, morley, and vox, this pedal has all of them in one and you can pick the range of the wah!!! Definitly the best wah out, nothing can beat this wah!

It's got a bunch of wah's in one, Morley, Dunlop, Vox, a bass wah, a custom wah, and advanced wah! The best sounding wah out! It has a uni-v, awesome feature, just like the dunlop rotovibe, I use that feature when playing hendrix, and then switch to the Vox V846 wah with the Big muff (which is also in the pedal)!! It even has a noise gate, and you can pick the range of the noise gate, from nothing, to getting rid of any extra noise! It has 3 memory saves, you really don't need to save anything, so don't cry that there's only 3, there really is no need to save anything. Turned it it on and switching back to bypass is simple, just like all wahs! I never used the heel switch, no need for it! Oh yeah, the best part is, no loud explosions when turning the pedal from bypass to on, or reverse, some wahs have those noisy pots, Boss was smart, made a little button thing, no noise at all when turning on or off! YOu wont need to replace the pots either, they don't seem to die out or get old or get noisy! You loose the instructions or get it used, who cares, on the bottom it tells you how to do everything, on the bottom plate.

The only thing I don't like about it is, I wish Boss made it sooner, I spent sooo much on wah's, and then Boss made one that sounds better than all of then!!!

It's an f'n Boss pedal, the best stuff out there!!!

If you are reading this, you obviously are thinking about getting it, stop reading this and just GO BUY IT, you won't be disappointed!!! This is the most versatile wah out, and it isn't only a wah!!!

I bought this from a music store for $148. I was looking for a really good sounding wah and a univibe pedal, and I found them in one pedal, the Boss pw-10 v wah!!!

This pedal doesn't just have a bunch of wahs in one pedal, but it has the uni-v in it too! Also, it has the voice mode, which is better than the older Boss humanizer pedal. The nose switch is easy, just like a Vox pedal. I like how they have the range knob and drive knob, they really let you get what you want. You can create you own wah too and pick from a bunch of distortions, like the metal zone, big muff, od-1, od-2, guv'nor, blues driver, booster(volume) and I think there is a few others.

The heel switch is sort of hard to use, but I don't use it any way, not a big deal. The only bad thing about this pedal is, if you wanna change which distortion you want to use,you gotta turn the power off, turn to advanced, hold memory, power on, pick distortion and the noise gate, and then save it. If you were playing a show and you needed to use the various distortions, you are going to get a little annoyed doing that a lot. But, doing that is worth it, there are some quality distortions that actually sound really good.

It's a Boss pedal, you know how great they are. The sounds this pedal produces are top notch, way worth whatever you gotta pay for it.

This is the most advanced pedal, it really is like a make you own guitar pedal, like the other person said. You gotta buy it, it has so much stuff in it.

    Boss PW-10 V-WahPublished on 04/07/04 at 15:00
I bought the Boss PW-10 V Wah at a local music store for $139.99, came out to about $150, a little bit lower, a few cents lower.
I bought it because I have dunlop wahs, morley wahs, and I had a Vox V847 but gave it away, I wanted a wah that had all of them in one and that actually sounded like them, and I found it, only Boss makes one, and it is the best!

This is definitly my favorite pedal ever, and I have a bunch, distortions, overdrives, wahs, volumes, flangers, phasers, fuzz, delas, easily, just about everything. I don't need any of the wahs or distortions anymore, the Boss V wah takes care of it. This pedal emulates the Vox V846 wah, Dunlop Crybaby, and Morley's Bad Horsie wahs!(yeah…

I don't need any of the wahs or distortions anymore, the Boss V wah takes care of it. This pedal emulates the Vox V846 wah, Dunlop Crybaby, and Morley's Bad Horsie wahs!(yeah!!!) It has an intensity knob for the wah. You can adjust the distortion, the type of distortion depends on what wah you pick to use. An awesome feature is the "vowel", it makes vowel sounds, duh! But, an even better feature is the Rotovibe, or uni-v, it simulates the Vox Rotovibe pedal, the rotarty speaker. This pedal is insane, very worth buying, who cares how much it is, it has so much to do in one pedal! You'll be inside for a while getting the settings you like, there is so much to pick from! If you even think about getting this pedal, go for it, it is not a waste of your money.

Please, this pedal is insane, there is nothing to hate about it! Just get an adapter is you don't have one, batteries are annoying. I have read reviews where they said, "oh, you have to push down the nose of the pedal for like two seconds for it to turn off", wrong, if you have used a dunlop or vox wah pedal before, you know what to do! And no, it doesn't take long to bypass, I just push my toes down and it is either on or bypassed, very simple, you just gotta use a little more force than you would have to with a vox or dunlop wah. I haven't used the heel switch yet, so I won't say anything good or bad about that, but probably is good.

It's a Boss pedal, you only get the best quality pedals from Boss. If you have Boss pedals, you know how good they are, but this is the best Boss pedal!

Bottom line, one of the best choices I have ever made for getting an effect pedal for my guitar! This pedal does so much stuff, a pedal that was very worth buying, it is the best, trust me, I have been playing guitar for a long time! I have been looking for a good wah for a long time, my favorite has been the Dunlop GCB-95 wah, but I don't know, the Boss V wah might take over. You won't make the wrong choice in buying this pedal! It has soooo many quality fx in it, I keep saying that over and over, because it is true! I am gonna rate the pedal a 5, but it is way over a 5, waaaayyyyy over a 5!!!

I paid around 150 USD at Guitar Center. I was looking for the best Wah pedal I could find, and I think I did.

Everything. The modeling is outrageous. You can make this thing scream, or muffle it so low that you can barely hear it at all, but feel the bass. It has a huge range of sounds.

You'll need a power adapter, as you can't use the distortions with batteries.

It's up to Boss standards. Built tough, will last long. Easily played at gigs.

Best wah pedal I've played. I recommend it to everyone.

i tried this out for about 10 minutes at a guitar shop which was charging 115 for it.

its good that it has different wah sounds and a built in distortion. The wah sounds are similar to those of a crybaby, a vox and a morley.

I was playing both the v wah and the 80 pounds crybaby and i found that the v wah had not alot of travel at all compared to the crybaby. the crybaby seemed sturdier the sound was alot clearer and it felt easier to play on.

the construction seemed sturdy even though its partly plastic.

nice pedal but if i had the choice id get the crybaby

£119, local music shop. Bought because I searched for 'Univibe'on Google and came up with an entry for PW 10. It looked good. I then searched this and other databases for a review and was again impressed. Went out half an hour later and bought one, having owned a cry baby wah-wah for 10 years.

Range of sounds. The wah sounds are excellent - the Morley especially! But some days you may fancy the Vox or the Cry Baby instead - No problem! Boss's own sound is also excellent. As a Wah pedal alone it is a great bit of kit.

It's piece de resistance to my mind is the Uni Vibe tho'. It's very nearly as good as the real thing which, with expression pedal, comes in at nearly £300. It's also better than the Dunlop Rotovibe for £189.

You should realise that it's not all wine and roses tho'.
    1. The manual is not very well written - compared to some others by Boss which are very good. It took me ages to figure out that the unit comes with a default distortion setting of the Boss HM2 [ or some such over-the-top shread setting]and the bloke in the shop didn't realise it either!
    2. If you use a distortion setting, it remains operative even with the Wah function switched off. The bypass mode[ which does actually bypass the unit ] is awkward to engage - because it involves keeping the back of the pedal depressed for approx 2 seconds.
    3. Similarly, the Univibe can only be switched off by moving the pedal forward into the off position - causing it to go through it's highest modulation setting. This is the same as the Dunlop Rotovibe tho'.
    3. The memory settings are not particularly easy to engage. Like the on/off function they are engaged electronically rather than by an on/off switch. There is a small gap of less than a second while the unit switches between on and off or the memory settings. This can sound dis-jointed during a live situation. I have limited the pedal to one memory, which makes it easier.
    4. The voice setting and synth setting are of limited value - gimmicky, and the bass wah-wah is obviously of no use to me.
    5. The distortion presets are not particularly nice sounding - the lack of tone and level controls on this particular part of the unit don't make them that usable - I found the boost and blues driver settings the least fuzzy and nasty.
    6. You can't use the Univibe and Wah at the same time - but, hey, that's luxury.

It's made by Boss - say no more. Another gripe tho - the text on the mode button is difficult to read on stage.

Despite the critisisms, the unit is excellent value for money. If you don't attempt to use it on stage with all it's memory and by-pass functionality, spend time reading the manual and experimenting quite a lot,it works well as a basic on/off stomp box/pedal. Like another reviewer on this database said, to buy each unit seperately would cost a fortune, so you can't go wrong.

Excellent sound, variability, onboard overdrive (comparable to that of my trusty DS-1), excellently built.

    Afternoise, complexity of programming.

Absolutlely solid built. Unquestionably the best wah in the world.

If you're buying a wah, this baby is expensive, but the sound and features defainatley won't leave you crying.

Remarkably about that time the Roland newsletter dropped through the letter box and there it was. I called up a coupla local music stores and checked the price onthe net also. The one store locally that had just left would not deal on the price - the guy said this was THE best wah around, demand was higher than available units. I went to store, played the unit for 30 minutes and paid the £115 without flinching.

Basically I had a choice of Vox, Morley, Dunlop and Dane-electro units instead of the V-Wah. They all cost between £70-£95 each. With the V-wah, I get to use all these pedals for just £115! Plus I also get distortion options, 3 memory banks and a resonance synth type sound for my money. It cannot get better surely? Oh yes it does!!! There is no ugly noise from a pot as the tone variance is sourced via an infra-red sensor!!! Fantastic!!! Oh yeah, must mention that there is a bandwidth type knob that is really useful in setting the amount of effect you need.

Almost nothing - this is the very best wah unit that money can buy.

The setting of distortion type seems tricky but I have not played much with this yet.
It could be cheaper I guess, but hell, you are getting several effects in one box. For the price it would have been good to get a power adaptor with it, like you do with the other Boss multi-FX.

As above, it has a very sturdy and rugged contruction. The foot pedal is about the right size meaning it doesn't take up half the stage. Switching on the heel to change memories is not as easy as I would perhaps have liked, but then it needs to be robust also to ensure its not switched by accident. Manual is simple and functional, although instruction on selecting various distortion settings could have been clearer.

Think I have said it all already - if you in the market for wah pedal, go and try this one (if you can find a dealer with one in stock). It is superb sounding and good value for money despite being a bit more expensive than the 'originals'. It is noise-free and that really is a massive bonus. On stage I find the choice of tone qualities from the different simulations really useful. The extra effects are really useful too and with practice switching between memories is not too hard.

Another innovative market leading product from Boss.

The digital modeling of various famous wahs, and the multiple choice of various boss/marshall/electro-harmonix distortions/overdrives.

The complexity of changing settings like heel button function, different dist/od sounds.

Construction and quality are up to the usual boss standards so it's built like a brick.

Best wah on the market, if your considering a wah this really is worth the money.

The actuation system optical or something or other (at least more rapid wear of Patar) is a real plus.
Great for Wha very musical and varied. The rest, they are gadget. nothing more. and in addition to access gallery.

You can save settings and recall them of course.

That rack, if so: I raqui me in at least 190 euros.

The building is half-half plastoc metal. So far I have not noticed any weakness, but I do not jump in with both feet on it either, though.
    .

    UTILIZATION

We set foot on the intended place. The foot is tilted backwards, the foot is tilted forward, we can not even move, in short it is technically accessible. WARNING: setting both feet on it, you fall. So little care (I specify for metals, but has never seen a metal with a wah?).

Other settings, I too used this, but the buttons look good, and in both directions.

Editing sounds, I did not used too for now. I ream the basic setup with the three main Wah: Morley, and Vox CryBaby.

Otherwise, the slip from the top of the pedal is good, I have not tried freezing weather but I think it is: there is no ABS but I do not think it goes wrong. Be seen to frost.

    SOUND QUALITY

It's great for me this wah. As I know very little (my only reference point is an old Vox), I think it does.
Listen to it on Vox: wawawawawawawawawawawawwawawawawawawaawawawawawawa.

    It's not bad?

Mean the difference between the different types of wah proposed. Listen when I rule Morley: wahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwah. The difference is obvious, right?

For cons, the distortion is terrible, it looks like a beehive. But maybe I'm diffcile in this area, as my reference for the distortion is my Mesa combo.
The Leslie effect is not great either. I do not know the Uni-vibe but now it's mainly Chorus cranked Leslie. My H & K Rotosphere pedal is 10 cubits above (at least 10 cubits, and I will not brewed).
The voyelizer: but what can it be used in music something like that??

So for me, wah sounds are good, the other sounds are blah blah blah gadgets or yuck yuck.

    .

    OVERALL OPINION

For the price, it's not a scam, but it's not a steal either. No doubt purists will howl, but me, it suits me. And then you can play with Shaft,

(Z'avez seen above, the Duke? Cinephile inside)

So just for that, it was worth it.

    SOUND QUALITY

Then the sounds of wah-wah, nickel, nickel distos the Univibe toy and all kinds nickel, but then the sound is much too strong out ds we put the disto.
It is for this reason that I sold after a month the APRS he bought on eBay.
I left on my old crybaby, while j'tais trs happy with the optical Systm which does not give weakfish

    OVERALL OPINION

    - Use for 2 weeks
    - I love the noisegate handy for distos Univibe and the effect really makes vintage
    - The pedals really out of the mouth, and it sure looks super solid.
    - I dtest the volume output when there is a distortion
    Good quality-price ratio
    - I would do not have that choice unless Boss shall decide to put a volume knob or something like a.

A small box effect coupled with a pedal! The concept is not too bad, the creature can create the wah (3 user memories), or use those already determined, to add distortion, adjust the compressor, or else to use the pedal effects come on the uni-v or the modeling of talk box. For a rest against a pedal, no means of connection noon, so when you have already used their memories, we remember its settings or on the notes by hand!

With 2 after 3 concepts of what the effect has become relatively simple.
So if you are used to find everything without opening the manual ... Ben you will not have the power!

    SOUND QUALITY

So I have been the deu. I used this pedal to record, and wholesaling a breath a little heavy fate has made me horribly ch ***
And this pedal, it a!! basically for those who want a clear, go your way. For cons, the distos not go too badly. But there is still that breath I could not stand. I sold it.

On the other hand I do not play outside my studio, so I do not want my judgment prevented people for whom the breath is not necessarily a problem, this pedal is good anyway!

    OVERALL OPINION

I have used it for 2 years, at first I thought she was great, but as I improve myself and my ear s'eguisait, I ended up finding it not as bad as a. So good buy for someone looking for the stuff not too expensive and that makes a lot of things, without really taking into account the quality ...

It is the only wah pedals digital simulating crybaby, morley and vox one, but also own a boss wah (advanced), one for bass wah, an editable mode and a simulation of a human voice and uni vibe .
It leaves us to use it choi wah but also in that it simulates distortion (big muff, mt2 ...) or the two simultaneously.

It is made of iron ac antidrapente rubber surface and does not use a rack system but an optical system which guarantees a long life.
Power is supplied with 6 AA batteries or the sector through the adapter bass (30 euro!) Which is annoying to buy as we pay 190 euro for the pedal!

Which is a multi-effects pedals in the form of ...
I put 8 for the adapter which is a pure scam!

    UTILIZATION

Overall c intuitive cependantlors use live I tend to do a pressure on the bottom of the pedal which engages a preset and then changing his!

The initiation is done by pressing the foot to the front and a red LED lights are 3 alors.Il knobs to choose the wah to use, the frequency and the rate of distortion and a button to select presets by hand.

Boss had the ide practice to print the instructions on the back of the pedals which is handy!
So here c ds practice graos all but the disadvantage is the sensitivity of the heel of the pedal to change tt fai live and justifies the 6!

    SOUND QUALITY

The sound of the wah trs good but there has not been a flagrant dirence between the different simulations and only the purist will bear interest.

Clearly as the mode distortion wah proven against live by, if the pedal starts but it does not mean utuilise, the sound become more EGU bcp!

The voice mode is stupid and unnecessary.

The single-mode vibe is wonderful and could see this as a justification for the purchase of the pedals alone being given a originalitdirigeable his foot!)

The setting of the frquence is very useful is rel.

Finally do not buy this pedal for the simulation of distortion because it st rotten as it st tt similar and very few configurable ....

    OVERALL OPINION

The PDAL is trs Ingala because his aesthetic is gorgeous and simulation are very wah bonne.Mais these are didto NULE and its use is dangerous and live well fau master c if the cata! ! live more for the high-pitched sound is annoying ...

This pedal is a counselor at the beginning and not the purist is doing bcp scene.Mais careful quan c is not even a gadget, but not a gem either ....

I have been using it soon 8_9 months and a wah that is what is asked.

I is not trying to autyre pedal before because the connoisseur can gt c domaine.Cependent a good price for quality and function it offers tt cependent with the experience I price a crybaby because I m ' used primarily in live but for a beginner who play at home c perfect and even better now that cry!
