Made in Korea, the other CHARACTERISTICS see the other view, it has not changed since ... I t trs nanmoins enjoyable surprised by the quality of finish trs treated. The Bigsby vibrato trs is much agreement, however, requires more support than the Bigsby of the 60 who are more sensitive (before buying my jou for 6 months on 6120 1963, o comparison).

UTILIZATION

The handle is quite enjoyable, until I played mainly on a Stratocaster US whose handle is fine, the 5120 is half way between the sleeves Fender and Gibson.

Guitar pluttlgre and well balanced up a little space stepfather those not used to playing on a 3 / 4 cash (forcment volumineusse more than 1 / 2 cases of type ES 335.

As for sound, I first t just the lack of teeth, treble and midrange dcevants enough. BUT ... It was enough of a screwdriver to lower the pickups, and once more moves away ropes, all the Gretsch is back! Too prs strings, microphones dlivraient too serious. I strongly advise to the happy owners of this guitar rgler their same, the ear, the height of microphones, including improved sound when both pickups are together.

Once this small rglage performed there more that is taken to connect and Brian Setzer, Chris Isaak Manu Chao or according to your preferences.

SOUNDS

I play both of Blues, Rock, Reggae as African music. I have a Fender amp transistors that gives all its dimensions with the Strato but does not heat lamps which suits this Gretsch.
That's no problem, a small lamp pramp Thomann bought 39 Euros and is played around the same time, I record a lot when I plugged directly into the sound card (M Audio 18/14) and pramp also works wonders. I use the Amplitube plug-in which a power coupled through the pramp, is more an illusion, it's almost like a "microphone jack."

I like the sound, warm, slightly greasy but coupled the precision of the attack, obtained with the two mics together. I just under the sound of each microphone individually, but trs subjective, I have the same frustration with my Start.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 10 months. I do not like the transparent pickguard. It's really cheap, so I just removed.
This guitar is really nice, however, a victim of its manufacturing quality, glossy varnish trs is "new" for a long time when we are clearly in a universe "Vintage". I'm not going up the mess suggrer expr, though ...

When I make the Grestch 6120 (evokes above) the Owner ', j'tais so frustrated that I needed one, but not all costs. Being given that the US Gretsch sell between 2500 and 3500 Euros, I "pulled" on the 5120. They are opinions of users who amricains possdaient a Gretsch US dj who convinced me to risk it and frankly I do not regret anything (neither good nor evil ...).

For 619 euros at Thomann (the price has dropped slightly since then) I am satisfied with TRS, especially outside of rglages dj microphones which I speak luthier who I APRS have entrusted the delivery had nothing to do above, rglages "factory" taient perfect (neck, barely).

ADDITION OF 9 XII 2010:

After a few times, I ordered the TV Jones Classic pickups on the manufacturer's website and I have it installed on the 5120. It's simply magical!
For info, TV Jones team up US-end of Gretsch guitars including the Brian Setzer. The luthier who I asked to change the pickups I was first taken up and telling me that if I really wanted ... Then once the change made it acknowledged that thundering c'tait trs. Of course, one of the 60 US Gretsch sound even better but for a significantly lower budget, this combination is satisfactory trs.
In any case, the TV Jones sound much better than the mini humbuckers home.
