Kustom Tube 12A

Tube preamp and amplifier transistor. 12 "real" controlled by a gain, bass, treble, volume and a switch acting on the (low) mids watts. HP 8-inch Celestion super8 (15 watts / 8 ohms). 1 output for an external HP, 1 headphone output and one "line".

UTILIZATION

Config 'super fastoche. Gain through channel switch for this purpose, but in this case it is necessary to review the overall volume is switched on. Personally, I'm not really used, but it helps out with a more "fuzzy" that "overdrive". The receiver generates a low hum (ground fault?) No more annoying than that if we refer to the lives of Hendrix hum which disappears when you listen to the sound coming out of the "line out"
It lacks a midrange control barely filled by the switch that is on the lower midrange and can lighten or thicken the sound according to its position where 7 use.

SOUNDS

Despite these few things improved, this amp still sends a basic sound more than adequate, and the clean sound is just sublime. Here we have the best of two worlds with the heat of the lamp preamp. OVERALL OPINION

I will never part of this amp especially since I cleared the 12AX7 Chinese origin for JJ Tesla ECC83s gold pins which gives him more mellow and sweet potato. I plan to change the HP to give it a new life and a few decibels because he deserves it. I remake this choice without hesitation and if I had to keep only one amp, this would be it!
