Everything has been said previously ... The real plus in my opinion for the outlets and channel settings separate clean / overdrive. short, comprehensive level settings. Be careful though, some welds components are quite fragile (I had a problem with mine just 15 days after purchase, I had more sound, just the breath. It turned out a problem of sealing, the seller told me it was recurrent in Marshall).
UTILIZATION
Ease of Use. despite the various possibilities of this amp (this is all to his advantage), no problem finding a sound to his liking. The output line out is a real plus when you have no microphone to dub the amp to a PA system.
SOUNDS
Preamp tube, giving her a rather bold and warm (no, no jokes ?!!!) to all. With distortion, it also shows to advantage, with a tint, not surprisingly, very blues / hard rock. It was therefore a marshall, but on the other hand, this sound, effective, is often heard in short, difficult to stand out in "type" of sound. But hey, we know what to expect or what to look when acquiring a marshall.
However, 100 watts, I think so! Indeed, the guitarist of one of my former group had a fender hot road deluxe all-tube (of course you will say, but still!), 40 watts: the volume was 3-4, 7-8 to mine , and I still can not hear me (in fact it shows on our records at the time). Clearly, the dynamics of this amp is very low, addition, another drawback of transistors, do not be surprised if you are receiving the radio on your amp, I do not often come ...
OVERALL OPINION
I used this amp for 3 / 4 years before selling to a Peavy classic 30, in fact, I was fed up to capture the radio on, to not get along in spite of the volume group pushed to 3 / 4, and, frankly, I finally got tired of her, heard too much for my taste (you know, we feel that listening to certain songs, we enjoy good incidentally) j ' felt like a more expressive and his staff, however, to start a group (as long as the 2nd guitarist was not just a lamp) or for fans of the marshall who can not afford to buy a all lamps, it is a good alternative; Similarly, fans of blues or hard to navigate without a doubt.
Finally, I find this amp actually quite expensive, it seems that we pay a high price for the brand, it is no longer manufactured in nine (replaced by the Valvestate 2000), but at the time, I 3800 balls still get paid (just over 550euros) ... expensive for the transistor (yes, yes, the hybrid, but it is closer to the transistor as an amplifier of all lamps), especially now that we find very good for tube amps to slightly more expensive (compared, cost me my classic 30 695 euros (and again, it was There are 2 years old) especially OCCAZ. So unless you want at any price a marshall amp, better buy lights at all, it sounds downright better, or for the addicted to the brand, and save a bit much to pay for a jcm 2000, for example ...
