OVERALL OPINION
I use this mic in the home studio of our group for 4 months. I said that this is an environment that is far from being TOTALLY soundproofed, and that a fortiori my opinion may be biased.
I tried in various studios (Pros, Homemade as in the image of my situation), a lot of mics Behringer range (I do not remember the exact models, but those taken in the range from 100 150 Euros) and a Neumann (Rolls Royce, my love) and just what NT-1 that I was immediately convinced about whether to buy it.
I especially like the famous "hump" in the midrange spectrum. It makes a warm, particularly male voices (in fact, he was my least favorite of female voices, which is why some negative reviews from other user reviews). I also found a rather interesting phenomenon in terms of color voice sound, it is rather "round" when the singer produces a relatively low volume or normal, becomes much more slamming with increasing level of output of the singer. Some find it cold, I find that the color change is involved in the progressive atmosphere of a song. However, two or three layers and filters equation and curve is smoothed for those who do not.
Then I read, I do not know where (maybe on the official website Rode) it was the quietest microphone in the world. Well, this is absolutely true! NO noise, honestly, no, even exaggerating volumes and earnings, perfect. And while losing none of its sensitivity (to illustrate this last point, our local is 15m long: The microphone was in front of me and the guy at the end igh scratched arm. I still remember the sound of his nails on his skin, a marvel of sensitivity).
Finally, the quality / price ratio is unnecessary to demonstrate that micro plays in the big league with a prize for beginners. .. absolutely satisfied! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ALL HOMESTUDISTES! I am even ready to provide recordings unmodified to those who remain skeptical.
