Best value:
Excellent
- In which country was it made?
Korea
- How many frets, what kind of micro as well as their configuration?
22 frets, 2 humbucker.
- What type of bridge (Floyd, Wilkinson ...)?
Tailpiece and bridge type and Stop Bar Tune-O-Matic.
- What are the settings (volume, tone, micro switch ...)?
1 volume and tone with microphone, a selector 3 position.
- What type of race?
Set Mahogany neck, Gibson Standard tuning, benchmarks trapezoids, affects palisandre.
UTILIZATION
- The handle is it fun?
Yes, the handle is nice, good grip, whatever the style of play
- Access to acute (recent freight) is it easy?
Not really, but hey, it's a Les Paul. There is no access to acute bevel.
- Ergonomics is it good (in terms of shape, weight ...)?
The form that scrupulously respects its big sister Gibson, to me is the most beautiful guitars ...
on the other hand, in weight, well it's a Les Paul too, and when it was on the shoulder for 5 hours in rehearsal ', better have a good well padded strap. 8 KG the Beast, it is not anything ...
- Gets it easy to sound good? ...
With the original e-mail, not really ... The distortion is not defined, and it is rough, lack of energy. Advice, this type of guitar to the violin that takes the road, we must completely replace the electronics. That's what I did to Di Marzio pickups at the time, and the sound quality was multiplied by 10.
SOUNDS
- They are suitable to your style of music?
I'm in the Rock, so yes, no problem, this guitar is made for this ...
- With what (s) amplifier (s) or effect (s) do you play?
Plugged into a Marshall JTM 312 tube, and TS10 Plexitone.
- What kind of sound you get and with what settings ("crystalline", "bold ",....)?
Sounds hot, with lots of sustain.
- What are the sounds you prefer, you hate?
With the original pickups, it's still pretty average.
It made me happy for a few years, because I had little perspective on the issue of sound, but it is becoming more demanding over time, and after this course I found it necessary to replace by very good microphones to continue my journey with this instrument.
OVERALL OPINION
- How long have you use it?
I bought it new in 1995 (3650 CHF), I sold this year to make me my own Les Paul.
- What is so special that you like most and least?
Listed plus: True to the original level dimensions (except head). Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish with flamed maple veneer is beautiful.
Listed under: The mechanical Kluson type does not hold water, I've changed for the Gotoh oil bath.
The electronics in general has its limits ...
- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
That the low-end ...
- How would you rate the quality / price?
The value for money is good. It is in the midrange. Even by changing the pickups, electronics and mechanics, it remains well below the price of a Gibson.
- With experience, you do again this choice? ...
Yes, I had a great time with this guitar. I improved level at all its faults, and I took a lot of fun to play then.
For cons, I put an average score because it is home anyway, but hey, considering the price ...
