« Epiphone Les Paul Standard »
Published on 07/08/03 at 15:00I was at a local music store(www.musicstop.com) in Moncton NB and was looking for a better guitar because my Jay Turser to be honest sucked. I was looking at the Gibson Epiphone Les Paul Standard and was surprised to see it was only $713.00 CDN. However it didnt come with a case but it came also with 5 picks and extra strings.
I like the crisp glass-like finish however it tends to leave ugly fingerprints which can be remedyed with polish. I also like the tuning pegs and the Humbucker pickups. The fretboard is made of AA maple wood which is very comfortable to play.
I dislike the pickguard because it looks ugly and when you strum you hit your hand because it is on a 45 degree angle. Aside from this it is an overall good guitar.
Quality Gibson made instrument. I'd say that this Epiphone would give the authentic Gibsons a run for their money.
