MGR/James Ocean « Epiphone Les Paul Standard »
Published on 12/08/03 at 15:00I acquired this guitar while testing out models for a chistmas present from my parents. I had it down the wire between the one i have and a factory second. Since this guitar was a special edition and had real gibson pickups, block inlays, and gold hardware, i got it. since its a special edition it cost about 700 dollars, but i turned in a squire strat for 100 off.
I like everything. The wide neck for easier play (in my opinion). the looks are just beautiful, with gold on black and artwork on the back, it is a beautiful guitar. The pickups are howlin, and way better than my previous guitar. I also prefer the les paul guitar in general to most other guitars.
what don't i like? one of the inlays was poorly done, but it is hardly noticable.
This guitar was built very nicely with the exception of the inlay.
So, to summarize, This guitar rocks. I'd take an epiphone over a gibson any day. "why?" says the rich man. "Money" says me.
