USE

GIBSON c is fucked in the world with this guitar.

Purchased in November 2001 for 1500 euros.
The only notable feature is that the studio does not have a maple top (reserved to the standard, the deluxeetc ...)

USE

I should mention here that I have kept for 3 days at the store, they were kind enough to take me back. I took a telecaster 52 'instead.

Who listen to many dique sixties (faces etc ...), I had a preconceived idea of ​​his Gibson.
I was looking in the studio a fat, fluffy, deaf. The studio is the opposite of that, the sound is brilliant, accurate, balanced, in a word: modern. Big disappointment compared to my expectations, I believe that we must invest in a standard for "the sound" les paul.
To my taste, yamaha sg 1000 (1973) sounded more Gibson.
I think the studio are made for modern rock, hard, pop than blues.
It is ideal in this register but a little dirty or mushy sound, special equipped with p90 (I got one in the year 80) seems more suitable although less defined fat saturation.

In conclusion, I think the studio is aptly named, clear and precise, it will do for very punchy and clean saturations, short for Studio rods ...
The Lespaul range is so vast that suited blues and vintage rock find their "weapon" easy but it will by no means the Studio.
In its modern registry is unbeatable but for me it does not sound that we liked so much disk Robin trower ...

UTILIZATION

On the 2011 model like mine is a big inning.
However, it is easy to play including fast legato. Indeed it is jumbo frets, it helps.

My guitar sounds. This is why I bought it after trying in store by chance.

I have a Lag Roxanne made in France; the lag is great but different, the gibson sounds softer.

Les Paul guitar Nashville with Mahogany body with tone chambers and solid maple table. The handle is mahogany and rosewood (I think) in 50's Rounded.
Power level was a 498T bridge pickup and neck pickup 490R.

UTILIZATION

This is an LP so ergonomics is no longer present, in terms of weight that is relatively acceptable, the string action is set fairly basic and the game is pretty nice.
Level finish, I will not complain guitar is beautiful.

SOUNDS

A powerful and effective sound, ideal for good riff rock. I play with my PB and mo amp Amp FX and the result is terrible. Its very typical rock with a warm grain. The guitar shows limits on the nag but at the same time it is not his field, I have a Godin Redline for that.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been 6 months since I played with and I'm still in love, bought used in superb condition, it is for me the guitar I play the most. I had the opportunity to play on a standard LP 60s and personally I prefer mine, the weight makes them more manageable and the sound is more straight forward.

conventional manufacturing gibson lp, mancge mahogany neck, rosewood key with pearl rectangles, mahogany body and maple table .. without bindings (white lines along the body)

2 humbuckers are both bold and incisive. perfect for blues, rock, hardcore, funk, pop, jazz .. why not and even metal. the sound is very balanced and easily takes a central place in the mix.

this guitar is a must for a solo blues, rock and funk-soul .. big sound very fat, with a strong presence and low-medium warm.

the handle is wider than that found in fender, but remains relatively "thin" for a gibson. the binding makes it very fluid.

UTILIZATION

the handle is very nice, and little tiring.

it is a gibson lp, so this is access to acute or tapping, it is not as comfortable with one or charvel lag .. but this is not the main objective. (I say this for the "modernist-purists" .. I personally do not like the sleeves square Ibanez Jem, and I take my foot to play the van hauling a LP .. but I regret that there is no affordable LP with floyd!)

Another downside: you have to be tough, it weighs! it is better to start with a big padded shoulder strap (leather yen too ugly): at the beginning, I wanted not one hour standing with the guitar! => = Répets muscle.

a gibson is not given, but its worth it. if you have the dosh and that is the sound you are looking for, do not hesitate to lasseras you do not!

2 double micro coils, the tone + volume knobs and switches that go well with with (3 positions).
The lifts are not top, it lacks fluidity in the settings. The holding of the rest acoord correct.

The handle is big enough. It feels good in the hands hands that's not the best for Schreder. Good thing it's not my goal.
Access to Acute is correct, no worries. on the other hand, like all the models of this kind, it is heavy. I usually play sitting down, so no worries. But standing, it is not comfortable in the long run.
Buttons and switches can find a lot of sounds but I think the race tone is not very precise. Basically, we go to the original song sound smothered in a very short time (1/5 of the race of the knob). The rest of the race I am not useful because the sound becomes too dull.

I play blues, rock, pop and metal, mostly on modeling amp (Vox AD60 and Fender Mustang / GDEC)
It is ideally suited to most genres but does not allow me sounds crystalline or aggressive as my Strat. It lacks some versatility to my style. The two scoops are all very complementary.

I play this instrument for over ten years, but I have not abandoned my old Yamaha because it possde a floyd (I frquente certainly not assiduously). I also played on Agile 8 string as well as a fender in frne (the one with the famous Duesenberg micro, so musical).
For the price (just over 3000 francs era) I do not hsit long.

Usa made. Pretty much this is an LP standard with less appointments and different pickups. Also the white model I have has an ebony fretboard. I bought this with the intention of it being a touring guitar since most of my other Gibsons are too nice to take on tour and destroy, which I typically do. I compared it to a few upper end models like the standard and traditional. It's pound for pound the same thing besides a few minor features. The big one is the pickups and the lack of a maple cap. Although I've heard that now these actually do come with some sort of a maple top. I'm not really sure.

UTILIZATION

There's not much to say on this. It's a les paul. I do have some gripes though. I've been touring it for roughly a year and the finish has started to wear through to the wood. This has never really happened to me before. I would like a more durable finish. I guess if you want a well aged guitar it's not an issue but sweat seems to really eat through the paint on these. Also I think my neck has warped to some extent. My action has become very unstable and bad no matter what setup I give it. I think the neck angle has become misaligned with this bridge breaking angle. I understand this happens to guitars if they are exposed to elements. But I never really let that happen to mine. May be a bad piece of wood who knows.

SOUNDS

The stock pickups are alright but I'm not a huge fan. I replaced mine with burstbuckers and like them a lot better. Most people seem to be happy with the stock ones though, I'm just very picky. To me it sounds like this guitar has a maple cap. I have a 2008 model fyi. I usually play it through a hughes and kettner statesman 50 into a matchless 2x12.

OVERALL OPINION

Seems like Gibson got cheap on the finish for mine but other than that and the neck warping I'd say this is a great value. Don't take my example as final word I'm sure I just got unlucky. But the finish issue I've heard is somewhat common. Take it for what you will. This is still a good deal on a perfectly good les paul guitar.

Before there were a million different Les Paul models there were about 3. You had the Custom at the top, the Standard in the middle and the studio was the budget model. Nowadays there are many more models and there are Les Paul models cheaper than the Studio but the Studio to me is the cheapest real Les Paul, any cheaper than this and you are getting very spartan models that are lacking finish. The only thing the Studio is missing compared to the Standard is binding and lots of people like the clean unbound look. This is the alpine white model which I think is the best in the line up. This model has a chambered mahogany body with a maple top. It has the fat 50s mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard. Only the white model comes with an ebony fretboard. You get chrome tuners and a tune-o-matic bridge with standard Gibson pickups. The controls are standard Les Paul with a volume and tone for each pickup with a 3 way toggle on top.

UTILIZATION

This studio has the classic Les Paul playability, if you like it that is up to you. Having an ebony fretboard is nice compared to the Rosewood you get on every other model. The neck is still a fat 50s baseball bat. This might be uncomfortable for some people. Because there is no binding the guitar will be more likely to have sharp fret edges when you first get it. This guitar is a lot lighter than most Les Pauls due to it being chambered. This means they cut wood out from the inside of the guitar so it is almost like a semi-hollow.

SOUNDS

The factory tone of the guitar isnt great. It has generic Gibson pickups and since the whole body is chambered out you lose the thing mahogany base tone that real Les Pauls have. You can compare a chambered Les Paul to a non chambered Les Paul and you can really hear the difference. A non chambered Les Paul will sound more solid. The mahogany wood give the guitar a really deep sound even though the body is not that big. If you want to play heavier music you may want to change out the pickups. The Gibson pickups are medium output and are voiced more for classic rock. You can get a decent crunchy sound from the bridge pickup. If you put on a ton of gain you will lose definition in the notes though. The neck pickup is bright but kind of smooth. It is not really the neck position sound I go for personally. Putting in some Classic 57s is what I would recommend or some Seymour Duncans.

OVERALL OPINION

If I was looking for buy a Les Paul and It had to be a Gibson I wouldnt buy anything lower than A Studio. The Studio has all the stuff the standard has that effects the actual sound of the guitar. The faded models with the lack of finish on them are not as durable and the different finishing methods effect sound. If you are looking at a Studio I would recommend also Looking at Edwards guitars. They cost about the same and for the price of a real Gibson Les Paul studio you can get an Edwards Les Paul Standard or Custom.
