Made in China, we have a solid body guitar with quality lespaul shape. Micro level, there are 2 mini humbuckers with a volume knob and a tone for all controlled by a selector 3 positions.

UTILIZATION

We are not on the high end ...

... nor even on low-end guitar despite its weight is pleasant to use. The grip is excellent. The bigsby is a bit imposing with respect to vibrato Fender Floyd Rose or other.

The Gretsch G5235T Electromatic Pro Jet is a budget guitar with great sound and features. The guitar features a carved maple top, mahogany body and neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. A pair of Gretsch mini share a single volume and tone pot and a 3 way switch. The "T" in the name denotes the highlight of the guitar, it's Bigsby B50 tremolo tailpiece. The black finish looks much better in person than in the stock photos on most retailer's websites. The thumbnail inlays for the fret markers add an interesting aesthetic twist to an otherwise plain design.

UTILIZATION

The Gretsch is a smooth guitar. It can cover a lot of genres very easily and the pickups never seem underpowered. The neck shape is slim, but not too much so. I feel very comfortable navigating up and down the fretboard quickly. The tuning stability is surprisingly good for a Bigsby equipped guitar, especially one in such a budget price bracket.

SOUNDS

I played the G5235T Pro Jet through a Fastback 18 head. Fastback 2x12 cab. No pedals.

The guitar responds much like a Gibson Les Paul, but smaller and a little less refined. I tested both the Gretsch and a Les paul Traditional plus top model side by side. To my surprise, the gretsch produced a fuller sound with a slightly higher output. The guitar sounded at home both in all genres of music, handling clean and gain sounds with an even balance. The bigsby would occasionally throw the guitar out of tune when used excessively. Once the novelty wore off, I found little need for the tremolo and used it sparingly. This greatly improved the time between re-tunings. I'd feel perfectly comfortable using this guitar in a live setting.

OVERALL OPINION

The Gretsch Pro Jet line has been recently updated. The G5235T is still available in stores but I do not expect the model to last much longer in production. You can find them for around $350 on the used market and at this price, you'll be hard pressed to find a better single cut guitar.

UTILIZATION

It is on the basic, two pickups with 3-position selector. The knobs for volume and tone controls act on the two microphones which appears more convenient than a knob for each microphone. There was no risk of being without her during a change of micro!

I play in a soul band (www.lesferailleurs.sitew.com) and I chose this guitar because it is beautiful and the sound fits well with the 60/70.
The mini humbuckers are halfway between double and single. A little roundness, some slamming. So it's a little confusing at first because it feels like a guitar without much character, but after use I find the sound very interresting, the intermediate position allows me to approach the same rhythmic funk. The microphone is punchy and acute severe velvety with a nice attack.

I purchased this guitar originally because it was different to most others around with its Bigsby Tremolo. It looks classy with a vintage feel. I payed $875au

The tones are clean and crisp with deep bass notes.It has a real pure sound which is also strong with the 2 mini humbuckers. It feels good in the hand and the tuners are smooth. Also I really like the overall look and we all know how important the looks are.....hehehe

There are only a couple of things that i dont like....The strings tend to buzz on the frets...but this doesnt come through the amp....And the other thing is the bigsy tremolo, while it is very stylish and good to use it throws it way out of tune if you are too heavy handed

The overall construction and quality of the guitar is first class...The front is black with a white pickgaurd and the back is a deep mahogany which is faultless in appearance

I would recommend this guitar to anyone from a beginner to a hardcore rockhead...summing it up in one word...BEAUTIFUL

Made in China, but hey, it was a Gretsch for cheap and the finish is flawless. I am finishing "sparkle silver" which casts a much Les Paul. Vintage while turning many heads in 2006.
The Bigsby is fun and do not tune the guitar as opposed to what is meant here and there.
Handle very accessible and enjoyable. Nice aspect of wood and very cool markers "neo classic).
A small problem for the mechanical, a little itty bitty, but take their role effectively.

Microphones houses are not worth the best available, but feel free to change and are perfect for any rock sound and excellent in the garage or rockabilly. I would say they have their signature, hey, it's not a guitar for death metal, you have a good look?

Super comfortable handle and beautiful.

After 3 weeks of use, the strings E, A and D have started curling between the 5th and 8th box! I went to a luthier who assured me an irreparable fault in the handle ... The galley! Yesterday I went to so MusicStore in Cologne (where I bought it) to their maker delivered the same diagnosis! Guitar in the trash, they happily exchanged it to me! And guess what? The new frieze too, but much less, I'll see what happens after a trimming p'tit ...

Before buying this guitar, make sure ALL the frets and sound.
I know it's not easy when you order by the net! Frankly better to pay a little more and buy a "real" store ...

what I liked; sound!, mouth year 60, the microphones sounds very surprising (I was expecting a sound too hard and breaks the ears and I was pleasantly surprised!) the pearl pickguard, gretsch knobs controls the bigsby, the handle really accurate and comfortable.
I did not like; tuning not very stable because of the bigsby.
basically it is a very good guitar that changes the standard fender and gibson but gibson is closer in spirit and can really cover a lot of styles (I even dabbled in funk!) with and it is not at all expensive (560 €), so that you ask for?!
