I got my gax70 off of ebay for $140 ($170 after shipping)

The best thing about the gax70 is how many features it has for the price. Dual humbuckers, 2 tone, 2 volume knobs and a three way switch all for around $200, it doesn't get much better for the price.
I also love the distortion I can get out of this beast. Any rock, metal or punk song is going to sound fantastic.

The problem with this guitar is trying to get a pure clean sound. No matter what you do to the guitar (or amp) it's still not as clean of a sound as you should be able to get. Replacing the pickups would fix this, but I'm too lazy!

This guitar is rock solid. I have had no major problems. The worst thing that happens is the outlet for the guitar cable comes loose every now and then, but that's minor. The only other problem is the tuners aren't as good at holding their tune as other guitars. Also last of all you'll have to file the action a little bit to cut down on broken strings. Obviously all of these problems can be expected on almost any guitar.

This is an EXCELLENT guitar for the money! If you are a beginner who wants to rock pick it up right now! At the price I got it for it was a no brainer

I got it at a local music store i paid around $190.00 for the guitar.

The guitar has a thin fast neck with great action, the body is light weight, and the dual powersound humbucking pickups are much to my liking, plus it sounds great with slight overdrive and distortion on at the same time.

There is nothing about this guitar that i dont like, except the fact that you have to set the strap kind of high to keep it in perfect balance, but other than that, it is a great all around unit for beginner or professional.

The body is light and the neck is fast.


Buy one, you'll love it!!

I got this guitar from Musician's Friend. I paid 190.00 but with shipping it came to about 203.00.

Being that this is my second guitar, adn being that my first guitar was a harmony bullet, I obviously rediscovered guitars. This is EXCELLENT. I love the transparent red finish, it is beautiful! The humbuckers kick it! It weight seems like it was designed for me. My Harmony weighed very little, because it was made out of plywood. The GAX70 has weight to it, because it's a wide body mahogany guitar. But it isn't too heavy.

I don't like the nut on the side jack thing coming off! Then you have to unscrew the jack plate and go fishing for it. It's only happened once, though, and only took about a minute to fix, but I'm lazy!

I LOVE THE FINISH! It sounds great. I've never had any troubles with it, so i guess that makes a great quality guitar. I get many many compliments on this fine instrument. I tune my guitar to different tunings often, but as soon as i tune it, it isn't going to change unless i change it. I kept it tuned to standard E when i first go it, then three months later i decided to change the tuning, but i never had to mess with it until then. It is really easy to change strings with the tremolo on it. Just pull em out and feed em back through. EASY!

This guitar has opened my eye to Ibanez's quality. They sell high priced and low priced guitars, but the quality is the same, unless higher priced ibanez'a are of a Godly quality. I plan to nuture this baby forever. I'm not getting rid of it ever. Highly recommended!

I got this product for Christmas, but my poor folks ended up paying like $300 for it when they could have gotten it for $189 from Musician's Friend.

There are alot of personal things. Mine has the butterscotch coloration, but looks different than all other butterscotch GAX70's I've seen. It's darker and a tad more brown (My favorite color -I lucked out!) The neck on it is very straight -more so than my friend's $800 Jackson. I like the Les Paul style bridge and the 2 volume/ 2 tone knobs. It also stays in tune and has a good solid, relatively heavy body.

Well, the pickups interfered too easily with my amp and it was hard to find a place to stand without hearing a screechy noise. I'm presently solving that problem by putting a set of active EMG's in it. Note: I liked the guitar itself enough to spend more money than it is worth on it. It's difficult (for me) to play comfortably standing up and oh yeah, of course, the jack tends to come loose easily, but I'm solving that problem too.

Like I said, the neck is straight -It's pretty thick, allowing decent sustain -comfortable to play sitting down -MINE has a gorgeous paint job -and besides the jack problem, it holds together well.

I liked it well enough to spend more money than it was worth on it.

I bought this guitar off www.americanmusical.com for about $195 and it was delivered within 2 days.

Well what first drew me to this guitar is the appearance. It looks awesome. So i checked it out on the Ibanez website, and I like what I read. It sounds great and it's great for getting artifical harmonics on it.

The only things that I don't like about this guitar is that it is hard to palm mute on it for me because of the type of bridge it has (i'm used to strats). It also seems to go out of tune a lot, but it may just be because the strings havent been played a lot yet since I've only had the guitar for a few days.

It has 2 humbuckers, a three way switch, 2 volume knobs (one for each pick up) and 2 tone knobs (one for each pick up).

It's a great guitar, but I wouldn't recomend it for beginners, it seems like it would be hard to learn on.

I picked this up at Rollin's House of Music, which is the only music store in our pathetic town. They had several Ibanez guitars but I picked this one mainly for the price ($200) and the near-SG style top. It is absolutely gorgeous. It would be nice if it came with a pick guard. Other than that, no complaints!

It has a very solid feel to it, rather than assembled pieces. This is because it's so simple and elegant. The front is clean with only 4 knobs, pickups, switch and bridge. It's much lighter than I expected, but it's not cheaply made. The neck does not bend easily, the tuning keys as I said are very tight and hold their position indefinately.

I'm sure those with the money can afford something better, but at $200-$250 you WILL NOT find a better guitar. If you're looking for something like the Gibson SG series style, this is it. It has a very clean sound and is easy for even me to tune it by ear (and I have no sense of pitch whatsoever).

I bought this guitar on the web from Musician's Friend. I was looking for an inexpensive, yet quality guitar that I could learn with. I'm a Jazz player, having played drums for 30 years, and trumpet for 5. I was interested in learning guitar because of all of the beautiful, lush, warm chords that are used in Jazz.I paid $195.00 for this guitar, and it is worth it.

Pluses for this guitar are:First of all, a very well done finish. I have the Butterscotch finish, and it is exceptionally well done. Very thick, glossy clear coat over the finish. Surprisingly, using only the neck pickup with the tone control all the way off, you can get a nice, warm sound. The tuners are high quality and have adjustable tension, and the guitar stays in tune for days at a time.

There is not much at all that I do not like about this guitar. Aside from the nut coming loose by the jack input, it's a very well made guitar for the money.

Construction and quality are excellent for the money. The pots are very smooth and silent, and have a very versitle range. It has a bolt on maple neck which, again, is very well done for the money. The pickups have great range as well, with the bridge PU giving nice, biting treble, and the neck PU, surprisingly, giving a very nice, warm sound.

For $195.00, you would have a hard time finding a better guitar. It's a pretty basic guitar, but everything about it says quality.
Ibanez really has a great product.I highly recomend this to anyone seeking a nice first guitar.

I bought this guitar about a year ago for $125.00 with a trade in of a nice copy of a Telecaster at the local guitar store.

Everything,I've been playing for quite some time. I know it's suppose to be a beginner guitar but I knew it wasn't when I checked it out.Very nice action,built really well the only thing that needed adjustment after I got it were the tuners,cool sounding humbuckers,stays in tune,beautiful finish. good for any style music,a steal for the price they go for.

The only thing I noticed is you cant get all the way up the neck comfortably for the solo's.that's the only draw back.

Excellent!

Get total access up to the end of the neck and look out it may be as perfect as you can get. a solid purchase for anyone on a budget who knows guitars.

I bought this guitar from some guy off of ebay. I paid 200 bucks for it.

I love the way it sounds, i love the way it feels, i love the shiny color, lol. Its a great guitar

I don't like where the amp input is...because when i'm sitting down and i have it rested on my knee the chord is resting on my knee but its going to break soon because of that. And i don't like that I keep breaking the same string on it over and over. I think its something wrong with the guitar.....or maybe not.

its good, but i beat it to hell, because i'm in a punk band

Hmm, it all started out with me going to Guitar Center in Hallandale Florida, a VERY VERY good guitar authority in case you don't know. I knew Ibanez is a quality product manufacturer, and it is proven by Three Doors Down, Marilyn Manson's John5 etc. I had just gotten paid for doing a job while I was suspended from school. I got paid 200$, two hours after recieving my money, I only had 5 of it left...meaning I spent 195$ on it (that includes the 6% sales Tax)

I absolutely love the locking tremolo, which is shining stainless steel, the humbuckers arer absolutely SCREAMING! The tuning keys hold their position great, and in fact, I have not had to retune my guitar once in the 2 months that I have had it!

The only thing that I don't like, as with any guitar, is the line output nut comes loose every once and a while.

It couldnt have been built better. Locking tight nuts, everything has been built with pure excellence and craftsmanship..a true winner!

This is a great guitar for anyone, expert or beginner. The parts and equipment are superb, crasftsmanship and quality, PURE EXCELLENCE! Highly Recommended!!

I picked up this guitar for about $220 bucks at our local music store. It has an great feel to the neck and lots of power from it's two open coil humbuckers.



It stays in tune a long time - I play an hour every day and I only have to tune it once a week. The pickups are great, you can get warm blues tones from it and yet, flip the swich to the rear pick up play all the punk and metal you want.


It likes to eat strings, I go though a few every month.

Great buy for your money! It looks like it's worth more with its bright red finish very very durable.

Electric guitar classical HH configuration (two humbuckers)
22 frets. Double cutaway. 4 knobs: one volume, a micro Tone, 3 position switch: neck pickup, both pickups, bridge pickup. Tune-o-matic. Mcaniques oil bath.
Gibson typical configuration: simple and effective.
Mine is a beautiful translucent red which betrayed a beautiful wood.

UTILIZATION

The main quality of this guitar is its neck. For the price it is excellent!
Trs good finish varnish, paint, mechanical ...
I think the body design and good trs comfortable use.
Micros much difference and rglage Tone effective.
Not too heavy but you can feel all of the same, too bad it's not super balance at stake standing on the other hand it is perfectly comfortable hold on the thigh to play seated.
I have to touch the wiring of the knobs and tighten the nuts mounting the switch. Nothing really mchant, a small welding and a clean shot cl should be the door of any self-respecting grateux.
The rglages factory, action, intonation ... taient correct.

SOUNDS

The whole time I played on a small combo indoor silent trs it plays well but on a good quality head lamps highlighted the limitations of this guitar empty .
Microphones a little weak, not bad in grves, it fits well on a Marshall amp, but it lacks body and especially Aiges seem clumps which can make a sound and confusion draft if the receiver also suffers from this problem (most low-end combo). Trs walk well on Fender amp for those who find them too noisy, well compensated.
But all may sound rgler working on prampli or pedals.
With better pickups we could come up with something good trs.
Sustain all of the same INTERESTED.
I prfre clearly the neck pickup to bridge pickup but curiously the two together can find a nice looking for the rglage IDAL with the volume buttons.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 years without problem.
The quality of the handle make a trs trs good guitar work.
This is a assurment trs beautiful "little guitar".
I urge all beginners less fortunate a report qualitprix remarkable. Useless, I think, to three times more expensive in a low-end of a prestige brand to reach just the US quality.
The more experienced guitarist can change the pickups but it really ncessaire double the total cost?
And for the price it Do not hesitate to take it out on any condition with s'clater!

First I said that I am a novice in the world of the guitar and my first opinion so you are warned ...
So it is a low-end ibanez made in Korea as saying it has two humbucker in microphone that are not especially the best yet they did not complain as this is a guitar is 400 euros I think.
It owns a fixed bridge that are not signed so no reference to it ... a possile
As for the setting we had four knob that match each of the two volume and two tone microphones which also correspond to the two microphones, the switch allows a position:
-With the neck pickup only
Els-one position with two double micro
-A position with the bridge pickup only
The handle is somewhat removed from the RG series for example is so much finer than the GIO is quite rounded and therefore slower
Al to note is probably expensive but it fits me well for a beginner to guiitare ...

UTILIZATION

The handle is big enough as said before no particular special.
Access in acute is always compared to a RG so easy and yet quite resonable.
A negative weight is quite big and even when holding the guitar while standing is not easy so here we find a beginner's guitar because it is especially made to play seated. Standing because the guitar has a bad habit of falling down it's pretty boring to play another black mark over the block for the strap are of poor quality and mine quickly jump started playing when g standing and that's a shame so careful.
The sound is quite Polivalente it is easily obtained aps adjustments are hard to find the pots are fairly accurate ...

SOUNDS

This is a beginner guitar so open to any style I play bine the bossa blues that as with metal, I used an avenger with 18watts which did not sound at all, then with a marshall valvestate8080 making it better and then I was able to recement the acquisition of a flextone3XL which sounds even better ... a sustainer is not a bad ide if you play with this guitar part in the lead ...
For the types of the obtained I do not think be able to say much because not knowing aps especially well qualified one's best will be to test it by yourself ...
For me most of j'utlise els possible configurations of the guitar playing, in fact many different styles but prefer is:
-Selector to treble the volume to max and Tone knob has 6 / 10 for sound unless I say slamming ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 years now and I appreciate it because I find it easier to play sitting practice. Otherwise I do not think that much room there is only a beginner guitar among others, and so many others I do is not try before you buy more because I started and ke I do not much pigeais a time, however, has its price range I would recommend you focus on the low end ltd which are much better ...
