Two models will be introduced today at the NAMM Show 2014: the AMPLIFi 75 and AMPLIFi 150. Both provide Bluetooth connection to play along with songs stored in compatible devices (Mac, PC, Android, and iOS) through the amp, which makes it a unique product somewhere between a hi-fi system and a guitar amp.
The AMPLIFi Remote app for iOS allows you to remote edit and control your settings. The app automatically finds the best sound for the selected song from your library, besides connecting you to the online community to share the sounds created with the AMPLIFi. The app also informs you about firmware updates for the amp and is compatible with 4th and 5th generation iPod Touches, and iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and 5S, as well as iPad and iPad Mini.
Going back to the amp itself, it features a 3-band EQ plus Drive, FX and Reverb controls for the preset currently active (effect parameters are stored with the presets). The master volume control doubles as a guitar level control when pushed, in order to blend it in the mix.
You can recall four presets form the internal memory, adjust the tempo of the delay, as well as other effects, with the Tap button, which also serves to enable the tuner.
The AMPLIFi feature a guitar input on the top panel, while the rear panel boasts a 1/4” headphone output, a minijack Aux input, a special input for Line 6 FBV Express or FBV Shortboard mkII pedals, and a USB port.
The Line 6 AMPLIFi 75 will carry a price tag of $399 (€359), and the AMPLIFi 150 will sell for $499 (€449).
