The v2.0 firmware update expands the HD preamp count from four to 30, and gives users the ability to create amp tones by pairing any preamp with combinations of dynamic topologies (negative feedback loop, operating class, power tube mode, and more) within a reconfigurable tube power amp.
Musicians can load a DT amp with up to eight unique voicings (four on channel A, plus four on channel B), providing an array of tones for performance and recording. They can also connect a POD HD multi-effects to access more custom voicings.
The new firmware update also lets musicians configure each voicing with a choice of 12 reverbs, each with parameter settings. Switching between Channel A and Channel B now includes reverb spillover, which lets the reverb finish its decay. In addition, DT50 amp owners have the option of setting the 12AX7 boost per amp model.
DT50/DT25 firmware v2.0 is now available. It can be downloaded via the Line 6 Monkey Intelligent Updater software and requires a USB-to-MIDI interface. Customers can control the enhanced MIDI functionality from an iPhone or iPad by adding a Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer II interface (and Touch OSC, MIDI Memo Recorder, or any other compatible MIDI app). Alternately, they can use a Mac or PC computer with a USB-to-MIDI interface and compatible software capable of sending MIDI CC information.
