[NAMM] Behringer X-Touch control surfaces

Behringer introduces at the NAMM Show 2014 the new X-Touch control surface series with three large to mini formats.

The Behringer X-Touch is a universal control surface that can be used in live and studio environments. It features 100mm motorized faders, LCD displays, LED meters and assignable rotary encoders with LED rings on each of the 8 channel strips, a master motorized fader, a main display as well as a transport section with button and a jog wheel.

The X-Touch includes a 2×2 MIDI/USB and Ethernet interface, the latter supports MIDI RTP protocol and can soon remotely control the Behringer X32 mixer. A 2-port USB hub is also available for additional controllers and you can connect footswitches to the dedicated inputs.

The second model in this new series is the X-Touch Compact, a simplified version with the same 9 motorized faders, rotary encoders on the 8 channels strips, but the jog has disappeared from the transport section and so did the channel displays. A Dual-Layer mode will help you control your DAW and instruments separately, and note that some control elements are pre-configured to help you get started. The Ethernet connection has also been removed but you can still use the USB/MIDI interface. The X-Touch Compact ships with a free downloadable software editor.

Last, the X-Touch Mini is described as a remote control for DAW and virtual instruments/effets for Mac/PC and iOS (Lightning). This ultra-compact version features 8 encoders with LED rings, 8 assignable buttons, a transport section a single 60mm (not motorized) and you can double the functions thanks to the A and B Layer dials. This mini version includes a USB/MIDI interface, a Mackie Control mode and control presets. The free software editor is also available for download.
