USE

Very well on this for me
super easy editing
I used the VST plug associated with a momment departure and return effect on my card
Today I do utise more plug I edited while still in facçade departure and return affect my sound card ....

SOUND QUALITY

Super good reverbs
I use most often on synth sounds sometimes with a slight compression
or pitch shifter or a slight detune
Chorus not really convincing

Insertion in a very good hardware \ software configuration

NOTICE GLOBAL

I have since December 2005
I love editing parameters and internal routing completely memorized
I try some multi-fx in this price range
quality / price more than correct
I would do this choice without hesitation ... to see in a few months ....

UTILIZATION

In terms of ergonomics, the machine is great, the selection matrix effects is very well done, we see the first look at what effects are active.

The publication of three settings effects is relatively sufficient to achieve what you want. on the other hand, impossible to program without the doc, the parameters are not identified by their value, but by numbers 1,2,3, etc. on the display. That said, any money I do not ask an LCD screen ...

Another problem in my config is that I hard a sequence MPC2000XL, so I do not VST architecture to control the MX200. Except that the MX200 does not send anything in midi out, which means that to create an automation, I have to create by hand all CC from my MPC. It's painful.

Moreover it is not possible to use the same time MIDI and USB, for example using a MIDI sync delays for disables the USB port, then it would have been convenient to synchronize noon monitor settings via the editing software MXedit.

SOUND QUALITY

This is where the machine hit, there is no picture, the sound value / price is really good. I love the delays, very well made, the reverbs are effective, although I never use the MX for the reverb only, I use qeuleument in addition to another effect. It's not a reverb 6000 (but it does not cost the same price either).

Dbx dynamics is a little gadget in my opinion, although it may help. The remaining effects flange / rotary / chorus, etc., is rather effective.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had two months, and I'm happy for the sound quality.
For cons, the MX is definitely focused VST, using twelve o'clock noon is taken over almost unusable.
It is still a very good machine value for money.

Very simple configuration
The edition is necessarily sound as each preset ais RSDLP paramtres manage only three ...
The manual is quite clear, it goes straight to the point.

SOUND QUALITY

I find the sound extremely good reverbs. It's Lexicon and means.
The grain is very rich, with enough reverb tail soft and dense. Too bad we can not control more of the parameters, there Contents for this ... but must be sought in a high-end Euro 3000 ...
I put a 10 for sound quality.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for four days and I think I've been around enough compltement ...
What I like most is the grain of reverbs, ttonnament good, it's silky, dense and it sounds professional, no doubt.
The argument "liveliness" that we can have an effect on the spectrum of the reverb (matte or glossy, high or low), and its effectiveness is formidable. Trs good!
What I like least is the fact that we can not edit more, a lack of mchament paramtres ...
Certainly it is a reverb of the range of from Lexicon, but for a product for professional use (that is described in the site) it should be a little more sculpted sound his own way ...
The ratio Q / P is average, because, as I understand it, we sell a Lexicon sound ... to be able to change it's more expensive
Maybe if you plug a multi-effect its release ... but no, I joke! = 0) though ...
I still think even that may well use this product if you follow the logic of the manufacturer ...
Example: If we want a lot of reverb with very long decay time, do not try to edit a preset like "small hall": this will be impossible ... The most logical route is to the preset "Arena" or "Large Hall" and we did ... the sound dja
The fact that we can combine the two processors, is also a good way to try to interact with the sounds ... and the routing makes sense!
Other effects are correct.
In short, this is not a tool for sound-designer, is on ...
I'll have to make the same choice, until I have not won the lottery!

The effects are pretty uneven ... There are some nice reverbs, a time that sounds good ... The dynamic effects are, how shall I say, entry level, too late in adjusting to achieve a specific result ... But hey, when you take a Lexicon multi effects, we look mainly reverbs, compressors not ...
The sound is generally correct, some reverbs are very good. Heat large processor brand is a bit lacking, but it's not as cold as what some would have us believe, and in terms of reflection, some Japanese fashion effects sound much more "metal" and chemical. And we must adapt the presets that it is ....

OVERALL OPINION

This is an entry-level effect, so do not expect this little MX200 with the sound of a 960L ... I was looking for a little reverb to listen to the recorded catches hot, give them a small spatial, not to lead me to give color to customers. This small multi-purpose fulfilled its function perfectly, some reworked presets can even get into the final mix ... A good little machine troubleshooting, which will fill his role very well live, the sound is good, but did not reach the heights of the brand, PCM70, 480, 960, and many others who shaped the image Lexicon.

I do not agree with those who say that this device does not ring, reverb presets are correct, and acceptable delay ... For the rest ... In any case, a perspective reverb is better than 01V96 ... Stay in the reverb time compatible with the type of preset selected, the rooms of 4.5 s, it may not sound ... Or with a NonLin2 (but the check is not the same ...)

This effect is dedicated to those who do not stretch the budget, which are ready to go in the presets to suit their needs, and know tastefully dose levels of effects to give the feeling of third dimension to their mix ....

The Lexicon MX200 is a multi effects processor that is capable of being hooked up to your computer via USB and used as a plug-in as well as a piece of outboard gear. It has MIDI ins and outs and two 1/4 inch inputs and outputs as well. It also has a S/PDIF input and output and is powered by the power supply that is sold separately. It is a rackable unit and it will take up a single rack space.

UTILIZATION

The use of the unit is easy to figure out as a piece of outboard gear, but can get somewhat confusing when using it as a plug-in. The parameters are pretty easy to follow and it is easy to scroll between all the different types of effects that this piece of gear has. I must note that the plug-in section of this unit can only be used as a VST plug-in and is not compatible with Pro Tools without the VST to RTAS adapter. However, if you have a compatible system you should be able to use all aspects of this unit pretty easily. The manual for this is pretty thorough and is useful when using this.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects on the Lexicon MX200 are usable and it is pretty versatile overall as it has a lot of different types of effects including reverbs, delays, chorus, flanger, vibrato, pitch shift, and tremolo, among a few other types of effects. Each effect has its own useful parameters that allow for a good deal of control over your sound. The overall sound quality is clean and the effects sound good for a unit this cheap. I have only used this effects processor with guitar, but it is suitable with any electronic instrument you want to plug into this. The hardware and plug-in sounds are similar in terms of sound quality.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Lexicon MX200 for about three years and I have come to like it for its convenience of having so many different effects in one hardware unit and plug-in combined. The price of this is really inexpensive and makes it a great deal. Lexicon makes some great effect processors, and even though this is somewhat low end model, it is great for the price tag. If you are looking for a hardware multi-effects processor that can also be used as a plug-in, this is absolutely worth a look as it is a great deal.
