From a CD is very easy to install. It is possible to have a dual boot with windows.
The configuration depends on the sound card. Some cards are not recognized by linux. With an m-audio audiophile 24/96 no problem. There is no manual but there are many websites that can help when problems arise.

OVERALL OPINION

It should be 2 years that I use ubuntu. Before I was in Susa. I wanted changed because many people use this system, although Suse worked great.

I could make some distros studio of debian, opensuse, fedora, Mandriva and Gentoo.
