Distortion pedal technology (DSP 56bits)
Operation 9V adapter (no battery).

2 switches to save two presets.
(No preset on version 1, and 2x3 on the pro version).

No MIDI for this version (there is the pro version).
Separate settings for Sustain, Drive, output
Eq 3 Tone bands (low, mid, high) and Noise Gate (off, low, med, high).
Presence of a multifunction plug in and out the ring for "hot hand".
The ring is usually around the finger and allows the hand movements to change the drive parameter (to see video).



- Three modes: Clean boost, Multiband and normal.
a) The clean boost is a boost basic.
b) is the normal mode of distortion "classic".
c) the 10-band multiband separates your sound and redial after working each band. Result of agreements which can distinguish every note!

- Within each mode and multi-band operation, there are still three parts: normal / foldback / octave.
a) Normal is the usual effect of distortion.
b) Foldback allows a distortion sound that is not cut but the chopper comes and goes, by changing the output level
c) adds harmonics and octave notes an octave higher.

All combined: 23 possibilities! Distortion classic distortion delirious style synthesizer.

UTILIZATION

The manual is well done and has all functions.

The separate management of sustain, and output drive is very pleasant.
The tone can edit the sound at the end.

Given the size of the pedal, it would have been hard to beat.

Editing is relatively fast, just having one knob for tone takes a little more time, but nothing too bad.

Note that the activation of one of the two switches off the other (good for switch style distortion to another in one movement).

on the other hand, it is impractical to live between two titles immediately create and use a new preset (adjust the volume or drive ok, but algo change and fix everything with onions will be longer). This is not a hack that constantly pedal (and it suits me perfectly).

SOUND QUALITY

I use a Gibson SG and a strat. The guitars are really respected. I play on a tube amp or preamp, and all agree well this pedal.

All effects are interesting and need to be used.
Normal distortions are effective and punchy, and multiband jouissives.

The foldback and octave are to be reserved for special uses (for fans of style phaser effect, etc ...) but in a typical electro group that can bring a lot.

I can finally play all the chords I want on my SG distortion without a slurry infamous output.

In conclusion, its fantastic!
(PS: some pure analog lovers may find "cold").

I have not yet tested on my bass - note that there is a special version for bass: the difference comes from the multiband decomposition.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for about a month. I discovered this by looking at the pedal equipment used by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) I appreciate the sound.
The list of users in the pros is also interesting (see site audio source). I was looking for myself a long-standing distortion that allow me disto player with a sound.


I previously tried a whole lot of distortion pedals (boss, ibanez, Tc, big muff, rat, ...), but none satisfied my need to have a sound and well-defined distortion own agreements on non- basic.

The radius of areas for improvement ... perhaps the possibility of having two presets or 4 more with a button to trigger (as in pro). In fact, there are so many interesting sounds that really wants to play with. But hey, what greed is

The pedal is a bit expensive compared to a basic distortion, but there are many possibilities and I therefore consider the price / quality ratio as excellent.

And inevitably I would do this choice, given that there is no other in style.
