The Progression tab/score editor and sequencer for guitar, bass and drums, is now available in version 3. PreSonus says that this update will make composition easier with these instruments, thanks to a new user interface that matches the rest of PreSonus’ software line (specially Studio One) and a universal shortcut system.
You’ll also find in Progression 3 a new chord library that can host your own chords, new effets from Studio One (Limiter, Compressor and EQ plug-ins), a Capo feature for guitar and improved musical notation and publishing tools.
Also note that Progression 3, just like Notion, allows for creating, editing and sharing files between Mac, Windows and iPad. This new version supports Retina displays on Mac and touchscreen on Windows 8.
Last, Progression 3 is localized in several languages, including French, English, German, Japanese and Latin American Spanish.
Progression 3 for Mac and PC has a price of $49 / 48.96€ ; the iPad version, that also includes exercises, is online at the AppStore for 4.49€ / $4.89. Full details, including a comparison chart between Progression and Notion, are available at www.presonus.com.
