Windows users can now discover the EXD-80, a drum synth in VST 32-bit format, which is the first creation of Third Harmonic Studios. The synth features 8 modules (kick, snare, open and closed hi-hat, and 5 percussion sounds), 4 output pairs, each with its stereo effect section (Granulator and Waveshaper) and you can control the amplitude, pitch, envelopes, attack and choose between different filters in order to vary the tones for your electronic creations (electro, ambient, dubstep, drum & bass, hip hop…). 16 presets are included and you can store 128 additional patches.
Audio demos and download available at www.thirdharmonic.net.
For Mac, Juno J-X offers a new synthesis approach with Gimmick, in which you will draw the oscillator waveform on the screen. The waveform is generated according to the number of twists in a cycle, then divided by scanning the up and down twist directions. Last, you’ll determine the position of each direction change point. Several controls are included for the oscillator, LFO, amp envelope and low-pass filter, so that you can create fat sounds.
Gimmick is an AU plug-in for use in Mac OS X 10.6 and later. You can download it from ju-x.com.
Have a great weekend!
