A 'clean' overdrive
Published on 12/03/16 at 14:16I've been using this overdrive combined with the Harlow and the result is awesome.
The Wessax alone already sound very good, the sound stays focused at whatever saturation level and the tone control is both very musical and efficient, and entirely usable.
A switch allows to get from a creamy, warm sound to one that is clearer, not to say aggressive.
As for the Harlow, I can't judge the importance and the effect of the Neve transformer, all I know is that I own several pieces of gear that have output (or input for mixers) transformers and these two seem to me like they sound rounder.
In any case, the Wessex sounds damn good, its look pleases me and I definitely don't regret the expense.…
