Update 7/12/07:
A small ratio of perfs in Cubase SX3 / motu 828mk2 FW mode components:
I'm at 2048 samples of latency because I planned to load but I can switch back to 1024 to play without worry. The CPU is between 80-85% occupancy with a dedicated and optimized for XP computer music

2 audio tracks
6 tracks midi / VST.

Novation v station
Steinberg Embracer
Big Tick Cheeze Machine
Big tick ticky clav

Not bad at all I find these Pentium M.
I have the M60-176 version with a 1.73GHz Pentium M, dd100GO and 1024 ram, you can put up to 2GB of ram.
The hard drive is a 5400 r / min, for some it may seem small but it is not, do not forget that it is S-ATA and has 16MB of cache is any good for music.
This laptop is quiet, it's a real pleasure to do sound compared to the reactor that I had before.
The glossy screen 17 "is very nice, especially for the game, in this usage the laptop is very comfortable thanks to the ATI X700 256MB.
We can play Doom3, FarCry in 1280x900 without problems, however, putting all the options thoroughly obviously it lagg, but that's normal.
With the resolution of 1440 X 900 there is room for lots of open windows is comfortable with a sequencer and full of windows ouvertes.Ou much to put two windows side by side REASON3 example.
I use it with a MOTU828mk2 and all powerful, in fact I do not bother me anymore to configure etl'optimiser like I did with my Pentium 3, then there is not really necessary.
The build quality seems very accurate from what I've seen elsewhere, we feel the strength.
The little bonus are:
-VGA output to the dual screen.
-In addition to the PCMCIA slot there is a site built Xpress-card!
Reader-SD, XD card (There's also a different format but I can not remember what it means to the icon)
-An integral keypad.
Cd-read without switching windows.
Self-correct in view of Spes: about 45 minutes-1 hour playing, 2 hours watching a movie, let + in common use.
-This laptop does not heat, it's a big plus in my opinion for life.
-Sound with correct + hp integrated than average (compared with an asus a6 kenitec and there's no photo), it's still poor but at least it's not unpleasant.
Cons:
-Autonomy compared to a 15 inch without powerful graphics card, but a laptop like this one does not buy it for that.
The weight-even if it is in for a good 17 "(3.75 kg)
Only three USB ports.
I do not put 10 because perfection is not of this world but really it's a good buy to replace an aging tower, you can do everything on it.
