« Excellent small Swiss army knife »
Published on 01/21/11 at 04:23It is an amp simulator pedal format, metal box very strong.
The pedal is quite small (10cm square)
At the level of available settings were:
-A switch to select the amp
Tweed (Fender amp typed)
Britt (Marshallian)
U.S. (Mesa style)
-One to select
Clean
Crunch
High Gain
-One to select a microphone position
Off X
Center
Classic
And a switch-GND (for ground), but I did not understand what it is for this one.
In total we made 27 it sounds different, which is not bad.
There are also the volume knob, drive, treble and bass.
Level connections we have:
In and out in jack
An out-XLR (not tested)
-An output for headphones
-For an entry.
So it is quite comprehensive, hard to beat for the price.
It runs on battery or mains (power supply not included, of course)
It deserves a 10, but I take off a point because the switch to trigger the saturation is very small in the context of regular use I do not think he can hold out long enough
UTILIZATION
Configuration simple, one chooses his amp, mode and the microphone position, it evens out and presto it's done.
The manual is not used much, it is as small as the pedal and does not offer examples of settings.
SOUND QUALITY
I use it mostly with distortion, to obtain sound style Tool / Rammstein / ...
I like that part
Fender Tele - Dunlop Wah - Kustom Defender.
The sounds are good, the pedal is very versatile.
May be missing a knob for the mids, it's a shame.
My favorite sounds: Britt Crunch mode with the drive to the bottom, treble at 6 / 7 and bass at 5, U.S. High Gain mode, drive to 8, 7 treble and bass 7.
The pedal tends to blow a bit with the drive fully (normal), other than that nothing to report.
The sounds that I dislike: the position of micro "classic", which gives an old radio effect ...
Another thing, the headphone jack is really good, no surprises at this level.
Oh, I almost forgot, she is very responsive to volume knob! For once I have a distortion pedal that allows me to switch from clean to saturated with just my knob, I'm glad I use
OVERALL OPINION
past two weeks, I tried the Vox amPlug in m ^ me kind of product, but there for a little more expensive is 1000 times better and more convenient.
I like: the sounds, the strength, full connectivity, the reduced size, price
Like least: the switch, the lack of midrange control.
For 73 € thotho home, go ahead
