The JBL PRX612M is a 1000 watt active speaker with a 12 inch speaker in it. It only weighs around 35 pounds and is made for the road. Out of all of the times that I have moved this speaker around so far, I have noticed that it doesn’t scratch easy and it is very easy to lift with the handles. It is only around 2 feet tall and can be mounted on a pole. If you want to use it as a floor monitor that can be done as well because it does not slide at all, on the bottom of it are rubber feet to keep it in place (unless it gets knocked forward or backward it will not move).
The compression driver in this speaker is 1.5” and it is very powerful. The sound that you will get with this speaker will handle all of your mid sized venues. There is also a input section on it with selectable EQ options.
The sound is very clean and big; it can handle all sorts of music as well as live bands, instruments and speeches. I have also used it with a few different amps but really didn’t notice much of a difference in sound/power while using them. Even with smaller and cheaper amps this speaker still sounded pretty good and powerful enough to work with the current set up that we had.
The frequency range is 50 Hz to 19.5 kHz, and by looking at the specs it will seem like it cannot handle a lot of the very low frequencies but it really can. I did notice that the low frequencies sounded better while the speaker was mounted on a pole (maybe because it was at ear level). This speaker is very affordable and with it being a JBL it is a must have!
I buy these little speakers in May, some concert and contra DJ.
Where to start, 35lbs (16kg), very small, 2-position tripod can tilt, one very comfortable handle and a ventilation flap that acts as a handle, the door is the ideal size for storing to iec power cord. Very nice finish, nice looking, very sturdy (wooden) and grid quality.
IEC without lock, in hand or XLR mic and 1/4 (two connectors), XLR out, ridiculous power consumption.
Despite its unique woffer 12'' (30cm) this enclosure, when mounted on a tripod is able to reproduce deep bass either inside or outside. I still recommend using it with a boomer. When used with woofer, a switch at the back is used to make'' flatter'' So for the concert without boost bass frequencies. HI and MED level, she's doing very well. Good performance and good projection, some can aggressively in the medium, but with a few easy touches, no problem, even at high volume, the speaker sounds very even without sagging.
For those who want to use it as a wedge, the JBL above were really planted, only 30 degrees, it may be convenient for a seated musician or if it is placed 2 meters away from the scene, there are still using the address box with a lid.
I use it mainly on my concerts as side-fills with reinforcement of PRX625 (X4) and sub yorkville. It accomplished its task very well. At first listen I was delighted. I used to work with the srx series jbl outside, a series that is unfortunately, this is far from a similar product for the srx had tweeter 2'' and pushed a lot, prx but still defends well.
The only small problem I would say is that the amps heat very quickly and a lot, but it is forced air technology and the hatch at the back for the bass reflex (which generates a lot I must say) is also to cool it. Manufacture and assemble in Mexico, not in China, JBL and Crown Amp, this joint always miracles.
Buy new Solotech to $ 850, I must say that they are no great products for the price that can match it. I recommend without hesitation. I also recommend carrying cases.
well I already 15 repeats and 3 with! AC does little but my activity is not overflowing XD
my first active speaker I just try STAGEPAS 500 in the kind light and quick to mount if I always use heavy + DAS (rf115, sub 18, sub 218 push by the QSC USA 900, pl 4.0) in the occurrence and the PM353.
the + + +:
very good dynamic performance and great clarity of mediums and a wide stereo sound and accurate
a weight that makes you laugh (I really change) the slope very practical. osthéo which is my least laugh
it's tiny and pummeled AC Sever ...
what is bof:
mic position attention to the breath ....- 1. recess is not a good position for the concert but is still audible and I do not like this. it is especially dangerous because if a moron had fun pressing the mic button is the immediate destruction of the terrorist, they would protect the pus -1
Finally, good value for money I would not complain .....
I am very happy and I'll buy a couple more and a second sub XLF
so yes I'm making that choice but not my banker.
