Published on 11/05/09 at 05:43Module rack, 3U. AES inputs D-sub 25.
Icon remote touch screen ....
VSS3 reverbs and 4 NonLin2 and reflector, and the pack MD3 mastering and 4 and the brickwall ... Other software is available, but I have worked, for now, as those I just mentioned ...
You can open 4 different instances of reverb ...
UTILIZATION
Ergonomics provided by the Icon is childish ... Once we have assimilated the parameters of each software made in CT ... Once you understand the logic of the whole, it no longer works, we have fun .... We have everything under the fingers, especially in the ears
SOUND QUALITY
Stunning .... The reverbs are "magic", incredible natural, even when using very long time, you can really sculpt the sound space, give our mix this third dimension which is depth ... Many spend quality effects for the crap off this monstrous machine. There is, in my opinion, than Lexicon found as well, and the only high-end ...
When mastering, well, it is a major global references ... Efficiency and transparency are waiting for you is truly remarkable. It takes some time to master all the subtleties, but this kind of machine deserves a little anyway, we do something right away, but with the knowledge, the many and varied tests, we can touch the Grail. ...
What I hate? Its price, as everyone I think ...
OVERALL OPINION
I practice regularly for 2 years, and I just break my piggy bank and make a big loan to offer me ... Delivered in November ...
To have had the chance to work on material "high end", my choice was very simple Lexicon 960L or TC M6000. The sound is different on the two dream machines, and say you prefer one or the other is a challenge, it's very, very subjective ... Being able to take the pack mastering me look for this model ... One enters the surreal debates, caviar or truffles??
I like everything, the sound quality, ergonomics, design ...
There is still a black ... The check ... more than € 13,000 for a machine is heavy, beyond the reach of every budget, as everything is very "pro ".... But for a commercial structure that is part of the investment required ... Much reverb is indispensable in a studio of any kind. For the home studio warned, I would advise the powercore6000, which is almost the same as this machine but without the possibility of 5.1, by opening fewer instances of reverb .... With more patience and ingenuity in all cases, the result will be "close" to what system6000 .... But expect about € 3000 ...
In short it is a non-standard machine .....
